For some yime i am having issue with game loosing compeltely track of the zoom value and going to an infinite zoom out that cannot be undone neither by any xzoom command or reset view. Need to make a jump or undock/dock to solve it. Happens both inside and outside station.i can only see the skybox background and all the system icons (gate sphere, station square etc...) compressed in the middle of screen.
I am effectively out of 3d view for almost a month. It happens on any computer I have. All with correct graphic drivers 9 i am game developer myself so I know when my computer is or is not qorking properly.. and this is CCP fault)

I have been having this same exact issue, ive spent hours in help channel trying to figure out a way to solve this. So far nothing. I did uninstall and download new client after several recent patches it seemed to work fine till more patches came out and it started doing same thing again. I wish someone knew how to fix this, I cant play like this.

Yeah I had that exact same problem for a long time, every 5-8 minutes it would Zoom WAY out. I run a Gforce card, not sure if thats what the issue is but it has to do with a conflict of some sort with audio drivers. In the last 2 months since I quit running Teamspeak (Ventrillo works fine tho) and turning off eve radio haven't had it glitch once. Might be fixable by turning off Eve's audio too not sure, never tried it that way.

i have the same issue. i posted here earlier. this happens on my main box, with a radeon 7600 gfx card. i have to dock in order to solve the issue, and then it will invariable happen again in a few minutes.
it's not heat related, and my drivers are updated. this ONLY BEGAN HAPPENING after i downloaded revelations.
i hope someone at CCP is reading this.

I recently reinstalled my operating system (1 of many times in the last 6 months). I also updated the chipset drivers from my board manufacturer (Lanparty UT NF4-D).
I'm sorry to report that even still this has happened to me while having almost no other programs on my computer other than Eve. I have noticed that this occurs frequently when I am sitting idle or in "non-action" situations almost as if Eve can't handle the fact that I am sitting in one place like during a gate camp or something similar. I have had this occur during warp though and have had it occur in the middle of space but again, was sitting idle. Still no screenshot but will do the next time it occurs.

exactly same motherboard here. And this is one of the most common athlon MB so no excuses for not working with it or its sub system if there is any real issue.

I belive this is the same bug that i have been having.
If you hold control and scroll on your mouse, it will start zooming out into the map, however if you scroll again in this time, the map will freeze whereever it is, and you will not be able to get your normal view back.
I believe my solution was (i will confirm this for you), was to open the map properly, by either presing f10, or clicking star map in the overview. Then pressing reset camera once fully loaded. Let me know if it works for you guys ..........

No. I don't need to do anythign with map. Just stand still and look to the ship and in a few minutes it will loose itself.

I have recently been having this problem. I did some digging on the forums and it may be caused by using an application in the background which uses Direct Sound. This could be Team Speak, Winamp, or ITunes. Team Speak has an option to change to wave out instead of Direct Sound. Might be something to check on.

just out of curiosity, how the hell does a directsound app affect whats going on on my client screen?
i'll try that tonight and report back.

thx all tc

Could teorethicaly be a bug in directX, since its directX that passes the modelview matrix to the video card. But if that is true.. its a damm stupid bug from microsoft.

Ok. News! I tested the Direct Sound theory and deactivated Direct soudn usage in ventrillo. $ hours playing and no issue until now. It seems that is the issue.
Now I will politely write a very unpolitely bug report to M$.
Thanks for the ones that discovered that.
