The recent reduction of the Gila's low slots has somewhat nerfed the typical passive regen tanked L4 Gila, sacrificing a DDA in order to keep the omni-tank strong enough. However with the more recent rebalance of the capacitor battery modules, it is now possible to mount a cap stable active tank that is not only stronger than the passive was before, but allows for triple DDA's once again, and even costs slightly less than the old T2 purger rigged fit, coming to just 275 million at the time of writing.

This fit absolutely will not win any prizes for completion speed, with just 514 dps. The idea behind this fit however is that drone auto-aggression, in combination with the Navy Vespa's enormous 6,480 shield hp, 50 meter sig and rapid 200 sec regen speed, allows the two vespa's to essentially complete almost any mission by themselves, leaving you free to chat or tab out or go make a sandwich.
Due to all the damage coming from just a pair of medium sized drones, I have never seen anything larger than frigates aggro them, and they are more than capable of tanking and rapidly taking out frigates on their own, while the Gila is just left to AB orbit a random object at 10km and tank the whole room. The only npcs that may ever need to be manually targeted, are elite angel webbers, and spider drones.
Most suited to caldari space, the dps is all kinetic, and the tank strongest against kinetic also, however the fit is an omni-tank, and doesn't require the swapping of any hardeners, it is capable of tanking any mission type, with an average ehp/s of 358 and a maximum of 467. The large capacitor battery powers the entire tank by doubling the Gila's capacitor power using a single midslot. Previously it would of required a T2 cap recharger and all three rigslots filled with cap control circuits, just to make a far weaker version of the tank run stable. |
