Mr.Dev
The Defending forces (450 people made of EXE, BOB, LV, MWA and many more) are re-logging in each time the node crashes. We will stop logging only if you push the hostiles in JV1V-0 out 1 jump.
We ask this because we have 862 Hostile in the system currently and no defending forces. You have crashed the node the Defending force were in, But not the Attacking forces. This has caused an open door and they are flooding in to it.
We ask that you fix this or we will not stop re-logging. We are monitoring the forums for a response.
Thank you, Nav3EVA

dont try *****ing then about loads of petitions..
CCP knew that this is going to happen today at 4am eve time, and looks like they didnt do anything to prepare..
And then they post one single statement in meanings: u would be able to save your POS SOON!
Come on. We are most of the EU TZ, we managed to get ****load of members online at stupid early hour, and then this happens..
And if u allow that oposition takes advantage of makeing lag its just sad..

For you to say " sorry i cant help anymore " is an insult... our friends are to loose there pos because you guys cant handle / fix the load?
What can I do? If I close the node like you call it, the solarsystem will load on another node and there is no way to "fix it" when the load thats being put on the solarsystem exceeds the capacity of our most powerful servers. If I *could* do anything for you now I would, belive me, but there are limits and no major breakthroughs are going to happen at 6am when I'm sitting on the edge of my bed with my laptop trying to keep TQ in good service.
If the OFFICIAL response is to be that the fight is simply too big and you cant expect the servers to handle it, then lets have a GM declared cease fire and be done with it.

LOL, well I am glad that you are doing your bed and trust me your not the only one whos up at this ungodly hour ( coming on 6am! )
However, is there NO way that you can close down a system? What about moving hostiles a couple jumps out? I know its not the best thing for the hostiles however there is no way we can even TRY to defend the POS.

This is what jump queues were supposed to resolve but all support for 'em has been removed from the code and moving 400 people during runtime without programmer support would be a very manual operation. Recharge the pos and put strontium in it.
It will end the fight and people will stop trying to be in the same system
Reimburse all losses so far.
At least if you do this NEITHER side has lost
If you leave the status quo as is, youve cost LV a titan and made lag-warfare a legitimate tactic.

Rather unlikely that a solar system can be spread across nodes. Chances are the lag would be just as bad since the data would still have to traverse the IRP stack, though some kind of driver to a mezzanine of some kind and back up on the other node, and then back - both nodes would have to share the same data set, lock and queue with one another in syncronization; and that's only the server side, not to mention updating all the clients.

If anything then put strontium and re-organize the stront and put it into reinforce AGAIN at least then your programmers can work on it today and work out something to allow this to work... I am surprised better planning wasnt done on CCP's side... This was without a doubt going to be a cluster ****** and well it was.

Edited by: omni eye on 16/02/2007 06:19:40 This is completely unacceptable CCP!
There are no rules that says "Don't exceed 350 in fleet battles" Have you got any idea how much effort and money have been put into this pos? And you won't do anything about this? This is not only unfair against us, it's also unfair against our enemy's that want to fight and play the game.
Is this an official CCP reply, or just reply from GM?
Please give official statement about this, create rules for you nodes. Size down gangs or make new gang rules. Or buy new hardware! Do what you need to do so this does not happen again please. This is very disappointing for hundreds of paying customers!
Please discuss this people, don't waste my time and others with flaming. The flaming is starting to take the fun reading the forums every day.

Well, There is another answer to this. back in the day (referring to the movie TROY...lol) each side could send like 50 of their best pilots and fight it out for a said prize this prize being what ever the hell the objective was that required 1000 goonies to stay up past their bed time. not that it should be considered for this situation but as a foot note for battles to come all in all ....ALL OF YOU SHOULD KNOW EVE can not handle this and wars like this will have to be settled more civilized ways like something I mentioned above.... now everyone LOL at my post cause I think its pretty lame too...... but it could be a way of things to come for battles of this size.
Then again that might require too much honor and truthfulness something that most of you in EVE have forgot...including myself

sadly, this node $h!^ has been coming fast. however, i doubt CCP expected these kinds of numbers to show for this battle. that being said, is there any way to "Network" a few nodes to run one system?

I can't actually believe LV had 450 people in system. I believe they'd be lucky to have just over half that number in system.
Face it LV, there is no way you could have possibly won this battle. For the ammount of waves that are in surrounding systems, you'd need a fleet of titans to have enough DD's to take them all out.
Lag is only delaying the utter destruction of JV1V.

VALAR this is totally unacceptable. Goonswarm (the 1000+ fleet) got EXACTLY what they wanted: free entry to system bypassing our 400 plus defence.
We are now logging on to find the gate (where we all crashed) hostile, and we are dying.
PLEASE tell us what you are going to do about our titan

We had 390 including allies. We also had 40+ cap ships. We would NOT have lost if theyd jumped into the bubbles.

Can I suggest you just destroy the titan instead, you know so neither side gets the mineral loot / titan... you know, that would be many times more fair.

Comeone. Let's stop with the Valar bashing. He's the poor dev who happens to have the pager tonight and he's trying his level best to get things up and running.
An official comment is surely going to happen once the senior GM has talked to Valar, and the GMs who are on currently.
