I am a noob and bought a vindicator. Apparently it is a good ship. How do I go about equipping it well? |

Er if you don't know how to fit it, you shouldn't be flying it
It has hilarious loss mail written all over if
Hint- look at a ships bonuses for a clue of how to fit. Lots of lows- armour tank. Lots of mids- shield tank. Also look at zkillboard to see how others are fitting theird |

I wrote an essay about the topic. It even got a sticky. Replace xyz with vindicator and read it.
Eve Minions is recruiting. Learn from about pvp, learn about ships and how to fly them correctly. Small gang and solo action in high, low and nullsec and w-space alike.

Since you haven't replied OP...the reason we're all asking is because there's a multitude of ways you might fit a vindi all looking very different for different parts of the game.
Solo PvP you might be nano shield fit...or active armour...or hull buffer tanked...pretty much always with blasters. Fleet PvP is (I think) usually armour buffer with blasters...
fleet PvE you might be blaster fit with a shield or armour buffer for running incursions (sometimes rail fit for VGs or ASs) solo PvE you'd probably run fit with rails and an active armour/shield tank...
Probably the only thing in common between them all would be one or more fed navy or sansha webs in the midslots :)
but what would I know, I'm just a salvager

Blasters Web(s) MWD Armor (shields could work, but armor tends to do better) Friends who want to fly with you and pick a fight with someone else
Honestly, I'd boot up PyFa or EFT and spend a couple hours throwing different ideas around, and preferably while on comms with friends if at all possible. Pirate BS' dropped like a rock in prices recently, but are still expensive enough they deserve more care than a last minute half-baked fit unless you're willing to live with the higher risk of loosing one "for science." Anytime someone asks for fitting advise I always tell them the same thing, whether it's a ship I know like the back of my hand or one I've never flown or whether they are new to Eve or vets looking to try out some harebrained scheme.
"Tomahawks?"
"----in' A, right?"
"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."
"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

I know he wouldn't but that wasn't his question and I want to teach him fish.

being new and buying a vindi im going to assume incursions
VG fitting
8* neutron blaster cannons t2>faction>meta4
t2 or better invuln sensor booster 3 statis webs (strongly suggest true sansha)
4 mag stabs 2 tracking enhancers spare lowslot to suit the comunity you run with
Rigs speak to the community as different ones want different rigs.
HQ see communities websites and mailing lists, advanced fits may be out of your price range so look at the entry and upgrade as you are able.
If this is for mission running then there are other ships that perform well and if you dont know how to fit the vindi you will get killed. For PvP dont use a vindi unless you have experience in PvP and enough fitting knowledge to know how to fit the ship |

Yes, it is a very good ship.

that's not a cheap hull and when fit well, is a very large amount of ISK to throw on-grid. you're going to want a very clear picture of what you plan on doing with this vindi prior to fitting it and undocking.
As a general rule, big whopping great guns in the highslots, at least one web in the mids and the tank of your choice rounded out by as much damage as you can squeeze onto it everywhere else.

Just sell it or save it for later. If you're a newbro you have no business flying a faction battleship. Learn the basics of fitting and combat with cheap frigates. Just remember, bigger is not better, it's just bigger. If your Vindi gets ganged up on by an army of frigates 1/10th its cost it's probably going down.
I'm going to build a big wall that will keep the Gallente out, and they're going to pay for it!
