Dammit I'm too tired to write anything clever.
What we need: All defensive module to have the ability to "Auto-Activate" when you are targeted.
You can turn this feature on and off.
You can determine what modules activate when you're targetted by an NPC or another player.
You can determine how many activations each module performs before shutting off.
Why? For those times you jump into a lagged battle and can't do anything, maybe at least you can live just a bit longer. Or those times when youre ratting or mining, spacing out watching Rosanne.
Problems? Might be a boost to those effing macro-losers.

Games are meant to be played man, not watch. What fun is it if the computer is doing everything for you?

I'd be happy with modules that don't turn off just because you jump systems.
Keep that Damage control running. I didn't tell you to turn it off midjump....

I don't think that the game needs to do that much for you. I mean honestly, if you KNOW you're entering hostile areas, why aren't you activating your modules before you start getting shot up?
Lag affects eveyone fairly equally I would think, so jumping to a lag battle would probably work out to chance anyway.
The only module that I think might benefit from autoactivate that wouldn't be such a bad idea is the defender launcher system.

Tell that to the cloak you're in when you enter a system. Can't activate anything, now can you? -----

IMHO, anyone who spaces out watching Rosanne deserves to get podded :P

From what the devs said lately ( moving some modules to always on ) I predict they will negatively effect cap recharge. Figure 1% for a sensor booster or DCU and more for say active hardeners.

A special defender missile launcher that auto fires would be nice. It'd also be the only way to make those missiles worth using.

/agreed! The NPC's have good defenders, why cant we? ------------------------------------- The difference between a Pirate and an Anti-Pirate is that an Anti-Pirate fights ships fitted with guns!

Just what EVE needs! Auto-tanking macros ---
