I just looked inside a container which was closed for long time. Found a 7 years old corpse in it. The moment I saw the name of the corpse, I unconsciously started to rewind the fight where I got said meat popsicle. And then it hit me (no... not the corpse.. it's still frozen)...
I remember that the fight was 7 years ago. It was nothing special... a HAM Drake against a cloaky Vagabond (those were a thing back then, for some unknown reason). I wasn't a newb, been playing the game for 2 years already, it was a short, ordinary 1v1 fight... but yet, somehow I remember the details of it.
You know what the strangest thing is? I don't remember where I lived in RL at that time. Since I've moved between cities a lot during the last decade, I can't remember in which city I was in when the fight happened.

Anyone had the same experience? Jesus, you've got problems. I've collected thousands of corpses over the years and have literally no ******* clue where or when I got which one and I have a near perfect memory.
So I do know what happened in my life around what time, but I have no clue what I did at said time in EVE :P
When you don't know the difference between there, their, and they're, you come across as being so uneducated that your viewpoint can be safely dismissed. The literate is unlikely to learn much from the illiterate.

I would not collect corpses, I collect other rewards. Hanging onto dead bodies is just morbid and freaky. Not really judging there... well, yeah, okay I am, but not my cup of tea.
However, human memory is really tied to context and senses. Many studies have shown this. You can recall a certain smell just by seeing something. Hear a favorite song and recall a place and time you heard it in. Have something touch you and instantly get taken back to an earlier experience of the same thing.
What you are describing is no different. The fact that finding an old in-game reward triggered it just shows you how engaged you were in that moment in the game at that particular time. That is why all the other aspects outside of the game likely don't have any recall attached to them, your brain knows you were in the game and only stored that data with the achievement. The city and other stuff were irrelevant to store so you don't recall them.
That's my take on it... 5 cents please. (That's about 2.5 million ISK game wise, you can put it straight to my account... thanks.)

Odd but tbh no. I have a fine life enjoying it with my kids and my wife more than i do with eve. Even with those fine battles. For me eve is just a game. Like what uhm every game.
So i`m not building memory of it. In fact now you mention about it. I have almost no memory of this game playing. Except what i have learn in those years. Any one have that? |

Yes memory is closely tied to emotion. The more emotionally significant an event is the more ingrained into your neurological pathways, aka memories, it will be. Its also why women tend to have better memories than men, they are more emotionally involved in events.
@Johan Dude I feel sorry for you if you will not have any memories of Eve. This means that it had no emotional attachments to you at all. And that is a sad thing for a game, for pleasure in a sense, to have no emotional impact. To have to live life that way is a crappy thing imo. Why do something unless it evokes emotional responses on some level as to retain memories which imprint upon your personality, the true "learning" you speak of?
Have you heard anything I've said?
You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?
That's right.
Had to end sometime.

I have corpses stashed away. Whenever I go through my stuff I have to check the battle history for the name most times to even have a hope of remembering why I have it. I do remember a lot of stuff I've done in eve though. Basically all of it was PvP or interactions with other people in comms. I can't remember wich PC I had at the time, wich car I was driving at the time, or associate any real life stuff to the time frame like you either. Its probably normal for people to do like said.
Its been so long since I've done anything meaningful in eve though that the memories are starting to fade. I've been basically playing skill que online with 3 accounts for a year. I need to start playing again or finally unsub I suppose. I miss the days of looking at eve with wide eyes. |

We have a corp hanger division for corpses.
I look through it and am reminded of the good times, back when wars were cheap, trade hub camping alliances had like 70 people in them and the carebears tried to shoot back at you. |
