From my viewpoint of the siege, as a battleship pilot.
We started warping our battleship fleet onto the POS in question for at least half an hour before the BoB Avatar turned up. Problem was that we experienced awful lag, each pilot taking 20-60 seconds to load once they had come out of warp at the POS. By that time the POS guns would cycle, away from the dreads and onto us.
By the time the Avatar jumped in, the lag situation was only worsened. Shreike (sp?) did an excellent job of acting as a deterrent to our support. But again, we spent half an hour being gang warped into and out of the POS with no time at all to activate weapons or mods. As soon as I'd appear (after 30s or so) the Avatar would uncloak and we'd be ordered back into warp.
So I salute you for taking down the dreads, but as I say, both the Avatars presence and lag prevented us from doing much.
The bubbles on the station was a pretty similar story. We'd held it for most of the day and had to abandon them due to the fleet warping in on our unprepared support. By the time we managed to warp a battleship fleet to a decent spot away from the bubbles, BoB had maanged to get their Avatar in place (I suspect the FIX pilots were the ones caught in the bubble.)
30 seconds stuck in warp, I get the screaming order to get to a safe. Click warp just as the DD burst appears, enter warp and having my ship taken to 10% structure by the DD device. Come out of warp at friendly POS, happily chatting away for over a minute, then boom, my ship explodes at a friendly POS.
Lag 4tw!

1 Avatar + Lag.
Amusing to see latest kill report shows more friendlies killed than hostiles

But yeah, this shouldn't descend into every other argument, else CCP will just unsticky the sticky and then noone will have an idea of what's going on.
People should just bear in mind that these battle reports are as much propoganda than anything else. Take the OP with a pinch of salt, let the other side respond.
In this particular battle, noone denies that we lost 6 dreads due to insufficient support. The main pproblem on our side was due to lag.
Props to BoB for the damage they caused us. Let's keep the long term analysis to those other threads.

I am not aware of German law, so I cannot comment on that specifically.
However, a lot of sites record IP addresses and use them for other purposes. Look at sites which try and guess where you are in the world, based upon your IP for example.
Just because a law says the site should do something, it's mostly irrelevant I am afraid. eg. Just because a site uses HTTPS, it doesn't mean that site isn't just recording your credit card details to make public elsewhere.
Now, can we please get back to original topic?

Originally by: Nathin Ames Fsome reason a battle report turned into another way for IRON and friends to make excuses.
Quoted for future funnies.
The majority of IRON pilots aren't saying that yesterday went perfectly. However, it would have gone much better in our favour if our support wasn't lagged to hell and back.
