Like a cage fighter from the dirtiest corner of old earth, where bare knuckles for softies and gloves coated with shards of glass are the norm, this afternoon Band of Brothers forces shifted their focus once again in a style reminiscent of Mohamed Ali's two foot shuffle.
Following the kneecapping of hostile forces based in Querious (a hostile fleet and 6 dreadnoughts destroyed in ED-L9T), BoB forces proceeded to knock into reinforce mode three hostile POS in 9CG en route back to NOL-M9. As this operation was being completed we received word that the outpost system of Y-2ANO, Fountain, was under attack. Whilst BoB forces were otherwise engaged in Querious D2 forces had taken the opportunity to deploy a number of POS in this system and then followed that up by besieging a BoB control tower. As BoB forces refitted and regrouped to counter this new aggression this tower was put into reinforced. D2 forces then jumped back to YZ-LQL to refuel and returned to attack another BoB POS.
Little did they know what awaited them.
As we watched D2 forces siege our POS we counted the moments before we would pounce. Using the logistical magic of the Jump Portal we worked our way around the prepared D2 camps in Y-2ano and, as the hostile dreads entered their third siege cycle we made our move. The BoB fleet jump portalled in to Y-2ANO and immediately warped to our advanced recon teams. As support came out of warp and loaded the scene they moved in and dropped bubbles. With our capital ships still sizzling from being engaged all day they came out of warp, entered siege and engaged the hostile dreadnoughts at the friendly tower.
By the end of the engagement 9 D2 dreadnoughts were destroyed, constituting around one third of D2's total dreadnought fleet deployed to date.
As the battle raged we had reports of 180 goons moving up through Querious and Delve, this new intel changed the BoB battleplan only slightly. As some of our dreads had to shift position on the battlefield to maintain their locks and range to the hostile fleet, the command team set about using available material and traps, specifically the large D2 bubble left on the ZXB stargate. With D2 forces trying to bait us in to using the doomsday before the goons jumped in we ignored their long range battleships and bided our time for the goons.
Thanks for that bubble, D2, because it resulted in a whopping 118 doomsday killmails.
100% of them, hostile.
D2 said in our previous battle report of this day that there was "nothing up here" in reference to Fountain.
You're right, after this little show and your performance on Friday, there's not much left of you, is there?

Anyway, nice write-up indeed. Quite an amount of kills from the DD.
How many ships did BoB lose in all of this, as you wrote you simply waited for Goonswarm to jump in, during which I suspect you took some sort of damage from the D2?

Dreads are allot worse to destroy than a npc bpo. You can buy a bpo quickly, but it takes time to buy a dread (gotta be built).
