It has been brought to my attention that the 302 kills over the four-hour period of our recent frigate free-for-all, eclipsing the efforts of most of the major wars that day, caused some concern to pilots traveling through what is normally a "safe" system.
On behalf of EVE University, I would like to apologies for any distress caused to the residents of Korsiki and the wider universe as a result of the EVE University Frigate Free For All.
I would also like to take the opportunity to reassure the inhabitants of Korsiki 1, above whose planet the event took place, that no capsules were destroyed during the event, as agreed with the planetary council. At EVE University, we believe that live-fire combat within safe boundaries perfectly complements our more structured classes.
For those who may be interested, the event itself was well attended by our students and a wide range of frigates were fielded. The University, through a range of grants set up by current members, provided ships for those younger students to ensure that as many as possible could take part. Some of the setups from the day will be examined further as we feel they have merit for inclusion in the EVE University training manuals. Eskona Runningstar, a director of the University and top killer on the day was exempt from any of the prizes and Kra Martel, who recently graduated from his studies was awarded the first prize.
Again, apologies for any distress and concern caused to our fellow pilots.
Kind regards

I'm glad things are goingg well for EvE Univeristy, and I am glad the students were able to get into combat - any fraps? Mass frigate combat is the most fun.

Sadly, none of our budding movie makers were online for some recording. There will be a next time though.

Fascinating that you feel people planetside would be more concerned by whether or not some poor sap they never knew that wouldn't die anyhow got spaced than the large amounts of wreckage that will inevitably crash to the surface if large amounts of isk are spent on a cleanup operation.

We actually had 2 dedicated salvagers to prevent any wreckages and remanents to fall on the surface of the planet. It was our most pleasant achievement that even after such event, no single piece of debris was left floating. ------
