It sounds like your setting folder has become corrupt or non writeable. Rename your cache\settings folder to something like Settings_OLD and try re-run eve, setup some settings, quit the game and restart, see if that fixes the problem. ________________________________ ~Jiekon ~CCP QA

All i can think of now is rename the cahce folder to cache_OLD and try set all the settings, quit eve, and relog in. Or fresh install.
How are you quitting the game? try these after setting your settings to test : try ctrl+q, try escape > quit game, try pressing the red X then please post your results here. ________________________________ ~Jiekon ~CCP QA

Originally by: hotgirl933 just reinstall and try to rejij youre settings off a new base
Reinstalling is a last resort, i would prefer to try all possibilities before resorting to reinstalling the entire client. ________________________________ ~Jiekon ~CCP QA

Originally by: TxShadow I have been logging on, putting my settings back, and exiting the game by hitting Esc, and then selecting Quit Game.
And I'd very much prefer to not do a full reinstall... the last time I did that it deleted all of my notes and eve mails which I use.
Ok, try renaming the cache folder completely to see if this makes a difference. ________________________________ ~Jiekon ~CCP QA

Originally by: TxShadow Rename it to what, will it make a difference?
I'm trying Cache_OLD right now, but I just dont see how renaming the folder would make a difference... but then I didnt design the game so I'm going with you guys.
Changing it to cache_old forces the client to make a new version of the folder from scratch, this should fix any corruptions in the folder / files. If a file corruption is to blame, this will solve the problem and should allow the client to save any new settings you set
So in short, rename the cache folder to cache_OLD log into eve setup your client settings the way you want logout log back in let me know if the settings have been saved.
If this doesn't work, then the problem does not lie in the cache folder so i'll have to think of something else. ________________________________ ~Jiekon ~CCP QA

Originally by: TxShadow I'm afraid that it did not work, with three attempts. Must be something else.
Ok, go to the EvE folder, right click it, click properties, uncheck the "read only" tab (this will appear to reset in windows if you view the properties again) apply the changes to all sub folders anf files and try once more.
If this doesn't work, all i can think of is, unfortunately, reinstalling the client. ________________________________ ~Jiekon ~CCP QA

your notes in "notepad" in the client should be stored server side. ________________________________ ~Jiekon ~CCP QA
