Okay

So over the last two months i have read so many people shouting there accounts have been hacked, ive been in this game three years and have never had any of my accounts hacked

So to this end im going to give you advice on how to stop this happening

1. If you download any exe, mp3, wmv etc etc (any file) froma site that is not trusted, do not open it unless you scan it for viruses.

2. USE AVG anti virus protection, i have used it since day one and i don't care what anyone says, Mcaffe and Norton are crap and are easily hack-able

3. Use zone alarm Pro, again, dont care what people say, its by far the easist and most secure firewall around

4. INVEST in a router for your PC, don't think because you have a wireless modem or set top box that this will stop hackers, it will not. Get a router

5. Shut down all ports on your pc/modem/router that u do not use. Open ports are a risk to all pcs, be smart, dont be a retard.

6. DO NOT download 3rd party clients for your eve client, EVE does not support 3rd party mechanics and never will, the ones u download are made by eve players YOU DO NOT KNOW, if you wish to download them, do so, but scan them first once the download is complete. It doesn't matter who made it, always scan them

7. Do not accept exes sent by eve players unless u know them very well, and even then, scan them very carefully.

8. Key loggers, if you think your pc is infected, go to c:/windows/System32 or just system, and scan the drive for .exe, once you have a list, look @ them all, even if it takes you awhile, if you see key.exe or logger.exe, goggle the file, if it isnt windows related and google doesnt show it as game related, delete it, reboot your pc and change your eve client passwd.

9. Use Ad-aware, latest version, make sure it's all updated etc, then scan at least once every two days.

I hope that this will not fall on deaf ears and i hope maybe the mods will sticky this for abit so people can stop getting there accounts hacked.
