The game was not ultimately built for empire dwellers like yourself... You could find a home on any shard...
The game was built for corp/alliance interaction, making your own empires, not hiding within an NPC empire your whole EVE existence...
0.0 is what EVE was made for, ask any of the DEV's... Empire only exists to support infrasturcture so corps and alliances can make the move to 0.0...
Crumplecorn is pretty much anything but an empire monkey. He spends more time in 0.0 than most people I know.
Well he obviously is not involved in empire building then...
No, I'm out here doing my own thing, and I'd like to be left at it, kthnx. There is a lot more to Eve than empire building you know. Although, even empire building isn't the problem, is it? It's the huge power blocks aligning against each other. The issues would not be issues if it was smaller groups fighting regional wars, rather than one big war.
And no, multiple shards with user caps is not the way to achieve this. --------------------

At this point in time, yes it is... Like all other MMO's do it...
Connectivity and servers cannot handle what EVE is trying to do, sorry, CCP goofed...

How about a slightly modified version? Everyone starts over, except for ME.

No matter what you do you'll never be able to recapture that feeling of complete awe and wonder that you had when you first started EVE. It's like a childhood, as it only happens once and you regret not cherishing every moment of it.

I can see it now...
To learn the advanced skills, you have to be "reborn" and relearn all your skills... except you need 3x the number of skill points this time around... Ragnarok Online style

So give up and start over?
Playing Eve would be pointless if CCP are just going to erase everything like an old Windows install. --------------------

If you reset the game today, I would have to train everything all over again. I'm looking forward to training things I haven't trained yet, doing things I haven't done yet, and a reset would set those expectations back by a full 12 months for me.
No, a reset is a bad idea.
What's worse is that it won't solve anything. You're not going to change how seriously people take this game by resetting it. You do have a valid point about how people take it too seriously...
Too many threads of hat, flame and trash talks? Welcome to the Internet... lol.
