CCP maybe its time to hit the reset button? Declare a winner and reset the game to 0.
In the intrest of the players sanity, maybe you should. Too many threads of hat, flame, and trash talks...
People are takeing this game to serious, and that is not good for anyone.
Yeah I said it, with my history and millions of SP. I am willing to restart from day one.
What say CCP, lets do it.

Perhaps a better idea would be to create a second server, identical to this one but where everyone starts at zero. However as I understand it the resources CCP would need to do this would be rather extensive and wellàexpensive. Probably not worth it from their point of view. However I think it would be lots of fun to be in a universe where I get an equal start to everyone. YeahàitÆs a noob thing, I bet if I had played for three years I wouldnÆt want this either. http://dki.evehub.com/killboard/?a=pilot_detail&plt_id=37680

Ok, I've not quite spent as long in game as you (3 years as opposed to just over 3 1/2), but I've grown quite attached to this character.
I've spent the best part of the last 2 years specialising fully in the ship in my signature which is the only ship I fly, focusing on solo (often out-numbered) and ever so occasionally small gang combat...
....now maybe its just me (call me crazy), but I really, really do not see how it would be 'fun' to be back in a noobie ship licking veldspar æroids....

Euro only server 4TW!!!
I have... (has to think) around 42 mill sp atm, but tbh sometimes i mis the good ol' days when i was still a newb... green as grass and didn't know squat about the game and learned something new every minute.
Too bad there arn't really any mmog's outthere that even come close to what i like about eve.
Anyways allthough the op's suggestion might have some appeals it will never happen offcourse unless like some others suggested, ccp starts a new server. Resized tag... again... hope this pleases the tag ninjas from ccp... again :p

I just started playing again after an 8 month break. I really don't care about BoB or LV or who the Devs are within the EVE Universe, what corp they belong to, or what they're up to. Most people who play the game don't really give a damn about these things. It's only the small minority of a small minority who read the forums that actually care. Outside of these forums, the recent events have had very little impact.
And although I've been away for 8 months I've invested a lot into my characters. You're trying to tell me that just because you're a little bit upset about the recent events that I should have to restart? No, no and thrice NO!!! ----------------------------------------------- "I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully." ùGeorge W. Bush, Saginaw, Mich., Sept. 29, 2000 |

I'm all for a reset if they shrink the star cluster, and create shards of 5000 max players per server. Break it up by TZ so we have no TZ POS wars...
This is the only way to fix the LAG.
Many ppl would cry & quit, but many more would love the opportunity to start over knowing that node crashes will not ruin their experience 4 years after they have poured everything into this game...
I would play it. And I bet it would be more fun...

Maybe because as the months go by CCP still can't solve the problems? Did you ever think of that smarty-pants?
You can't fix lag without sharding IMO...
Fleet battles need to be on the order of 100 vs. 100 ships max (and even that still has mucho lag). You will never see that on the current server, alliances are way past those miniscule numbers...
Unless the internet & CCP's servers have a miraculous leap in performance, LAG will not be solved...

The game was not ultimately built for empire dwellers like yourself... You could find a home on any shard...
The game was built for corp/alliance interaction, making your own empires, not hiding within an NPC empire your whole EVE existence...
0.0 is what EVE was made for, ask any of the DEV's... Empire only exists to support infrasturcture so corps and alliances can make the move to 0.0...

No, I'm out here doing my own thing, and I'd like to be left at it, kthnx. There is a lot more to Eve than empire building you know. Although, even empire building isn't the problem, is it? It's the huge power blocks aligning against each other. The issues would not be issues if it was smaller groups fighting regional wars, rather than one big war.
And no, multiple shards with user caps is not the way to achieve this. --------------------

If you reset the game today, I would have to train everything all over again. I'm looking forward to training things I haven't trained yet, doing things I haven't done yet, and a reset would set those expectations back by a full 12 months for me.
No, a reset is a bad idea.
What's worse is that it won't solve anything. You're not going to change how seriously people take this game by resetting it. You do have a valid point about how people take it too seriously...
Too many threads of hat, flame and trash talks? Welcome to the Internet... lol.
