Problems - Mastery makes it look like you're proficient even if you have the ship skill level 1 - Show Info (Ship) describes the ship skill bonuses, but doesn't tell you what level you have (and therefore what bonus you actually get)
Suggestions - Put ship skills into the mastery system - Show player ship skill levels on show info

They are two seperate things.
Notice the title of the tab that you find the skills under, the one that reads "Requirements." Those are the skills you need, bare minimum, to pilot the ship. Masteries are simply the skills CCP suggests you train to be effective at using the ship.
EvE is hard. It's harder if you're stupid.
I couldn't have said it better.
Hello, Mr Carebear. Would you like some cheese with that whine?

my favorite part about masteries is they are a bas idea to follow if you don't know what you're doind and once you know enough to use them as a guid you no longer need them at all

That's kinda my point... why suggest training something like Caldari Drones V before Ship V. |

It tells you to get level 1, then doesn't encourage you to do any more levels. |

Right and the first page of the info screen showing you the bonuses per level isn't encouragement

Suggestions 3- Put ship skills into the mastery system 4- Show player ship skill levels on show info I added numbers to the OP as a reference to my thoughts below.
1. Your problem here is you are looking at the wrong mastery level tab. If you want to know the skills needed and the level to train them to be the best you can be in any given ship then go straight to the mastery level 5 tab and ignore the rest. I have never seen a level 1 skill listed on a level 5 mastery tab, although I freely admit that I have not looked at the mastery tabs for every ship in the game.
2. No it does not show your skills and the level they are trained to and to be honest with you I do not want the show info tab cluttered up with my skills since I can have both the show info on the ship AND my skills tree open at the same time.
3. Ship skills are in the mastery system if you take a little time to learn how to work with the mastery tabs. The mastery tabs list ALL skills that can affect a ship or the modules that can be fit onto that ship. Any skill that has a red X before it is a REQUIRED skill for the ship or a module and it indicates that you have not trained that skill yet. Another mark used in the mastery tabs is a yellow circle which could indicate an optional skill that has not been trained, or that an optional or required skill has not been trained to the proper level for the mastery level you are looking at. Either way simply hovering your mouse over the skill will open a box that gives all the information you seek.
4. I do not want my skills cluttering up the show info on a ship since they are easily found and can be open at the same time as the show info. |
