For me it's actually odd.. I don't have anything currently that makes me happy, I have memories of happiness in the past and they are tiding me over, old friends who've since moved on and such, still, I suppose that's how it goes. Hopefully i'll find happyness again in EVE.
Ahem.. anyway, come on, tell the world what makes you happy in our glorious world.

I got a Low-Grade Snake Gamma off of a 0.5 rat which I sold for 210 Million ISK, so for a noob, I have a nice bundle to cover any losses or wants. Other than that, I'm miserable, so don't **** me off!!

good question ...
the people i gained as friends in the last year of playing EVE - from corps and alliances i have been in.
fighting with my taranis 1v1 against other interceptor pilots.

Corpmates and flying interceptors.
There is just something so cool about whizzing around at stupid speeds pulling sharp manoeuvres in between BS's going at it.
Reminds me of all those space films such as Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica.
You know the scenes where the X - Wing screams past the bridge of a super star destroyer with a tie fighter chasing etc.

I have a single unit of "The Damsel". Every time I look at her I remember the old damsel in distress mission. Now that she's in my care, I don't have to save her every 20 minutes.
And that makes me happy. Well that and my Absolution.

Seeing enemy ships explode makes me very happy thou.

Err *takes his pills*..
For me:
1. Friends (no point playing without friends)
2. Information (knowledge is power, after all)
3. Connections (just like in RL, this gets stuff done)
4. A goal (you need goals or you lose interest)
The combination of these have kept me quite interested/happy in EVE for the past 4 years, and this interest has not diminished so far...
...Even if it sometimes means sitting in a station doing nothing but chatting.

My corpmates. Awesome people and it's pretty safe to say I would have stopped playing EVE a long time ago without them.
RP Enemies. CVA and PIE rule and fighting them is always great fun even though I normally end up in a pod or back in station and OOC they're awesome people.
My Hulk. If I've lost an expensive ship I'll jump in the Hulk, look at all the damn expensive fittings, get out to a belt in Providence and mine. I'll then laugh as the puny Sanshas try and get past my tank and laugh again as my Hammerhead IIs chew them up. What makes it even better is that I got it pretty cheaply. It would be impossible to get it at that price now.
My Daredevil. I love just flying around in it with the MWD on. It's such an awesome looking ship. I try and take it on PvP raids occasionally and hope it won't meet the same fiery death as my old one.
My Viator. I love this ship so much. I use it to get around even if I don't have anything to haul. I fly it deliberately into friendly bubble camps just to be able to MWD to the gate. It was worth every single moment I spent training for it. With 3 local hull inertial stabs and 2 agility rigs it gets to warp as quickly as a frigate. I love it!

For me its deffinetly my corpmates, though I'm considered the "corp n00b" mostly, they're still really nice guys/girls to chill and kill stuff with.
In terms of actual items, deffinetly my megathron. Me and that badboy have been though everything, I love that ship.

My ridiculous luck makes me happy:
Only one in corp to get three officer spawns in less than a year (CEO's never even SEEN one)
Randomly stumbling upon a shuttle wreck full of implants
Slaying haulers with officer mods and ****tons of zydrine
Tanking and escaping a pursuit force of a Crow, a Rokh, a Stabber, a Curse, etc. in my trusty (and expensive) Ruppy
I just seem to roll 20s a lot, and that makes me happy.

Level 1 missions! No i'm not joking!
I rejoined eve after 18months away and joined a new corp almost immediately. My new corp was in another region to where i had been before and they had a favoured NPC corp that they all worked for.
Of course i had to start on level 1 missionsand because i already could fly a battleship i did them in that (Overkill, but thought it was quickest and simplest option)
My standing with Gallente leaves alot to be desired now (Even my own race hates me)meaning trade runs are more interesting than they used to be . I decided i best improve this standing so i have started mission running for a Gallente corp.
Again plodding along in my Mega doing missions my Ex CEO convinced me to do the missions in an interceptor. The thrill of rushing around at stupid speeds with the pew pew of small lasers in the background has invigorated my missioning. I have a level 2 agent available now but i've decided to carry on with the level 1s till i can get a level 3 agent because i'm having so much fun.
Joining a corp of old and new friends that shares a common goal is also a great reason for being in eve.
