A few questions about Salvaging:
1. Does using more than one salvaging module on a wreck give you any benefits?
2. Is there a penalty for using more than one Salvaging Tackle Rig? If so, how does that work?
If there is a guide on this as well, I'd appreciate it if someone could reply and link it for me.
I apologize if these questions have been asked a 1000 times. A quick search on the topic didn't give me any satisfactory results.
Thanks in advance for any help!

When you use multiple salvagers it increases the speed of salvaging which is ofc very useful so the more salvagers the better
(Fyi though it wasnt a question you asked the salvage skill increases success rate, number of salvagers effects speed).
Im not sure about the second point im afraid

1.) yes 2.) no
More salvagers and salvage rigs have the same effect, which is faster salvaging. Neither does increase the amount of salvage, just the time you need on average to sucessfully salvage a wreck.

Thanks for the replies.
Just to get this straight... you guys are saying that: 1. Salvaging Tackle Rigs and using more salvaging modules only speeds up the process. 2. Training the Salvaging skill increases my chances of successfully salvaging a wreck.
The reason I am confused is because the skill and the Tackle Rig have a very similar description:
Skill: "5% increase in chance of salvage retrieval per level."
Tackle Rig: "This ship modification is designed to increase a ship's chance of salvage retrieval..." (10% increase per rig)
I must be missing something here... which is not unusual when I play eve. :)
Thanks again for your help. I appreciate it.

Basically, every time a salvaging, hacking, or archaeology module cycles, it has a chance to succeed.
The base skill improves this chance, as does the relevant rig. (Salvage Tackle for salvaging).
Using more modules is akin to rolling more dice - you only need one successful roll to succeed, more rolls means more chances.
Note that this chance is only whether you salvage the wreck or not in a given cycle. Whether or not you get anything good (or anything at all) when you successfully salvage a wreck is not affected by skills at all.
i.e. salvaging skill, salvage tackles, and multiple salvagers only let you salvage faster, nothing more.
Edit: FYI, no penalty for a failure, other than taking longer before you can go do something else like salvage the next wreck. :) ------------ Ezra Cornell

Depends on what you are salvaging and when. For example, when you salvaging mission loot with tons of wrecks, it is really better to spread your salvagers than put all on one. That's why people using destroers - 5 tractors with 3 salvages on different wrecks and your looting speed like pre Kali.

I've seen conflicting information on the boards that skills do impact what you get upon successful retrieval. Do you have a dev post to confirm your point? Thanks!
