When I was about 6 years old I rode down a street on my skate board. But I wasn't standing on it. I lay on my chest so my face was quite close to the concrete. Then one wheel got blocked by a little stone! Do I have to tell more? My whole face was ripped. 
A few years later I wanted to impress a girl with my bmx.  She was waiting at the stairs of the open air bath for her mum to pick her up. I wanted to make a wheele down the sidewalk. I almost made a backflip and crashed on the street. I badly hit my left knee and my bmx was trashed. But! Her mum came down the road and they took me home. So I could be in the same car with her. She asked me a few times if everythings alright! Although I thought the pain would kill me I didn't mention and felt like a total hero.

in the out backs of aussiewhen i was like less than 3 yo i climbed a old chicken shack and got onto the roof. fell through... walked out raised my arms to go back for more and found out there and then i broke both of my collar bones. 4 months in a fully body cast. in the searign aussie heat.
Got my arm caught in a old washing machine wringer about a year later, the old ones with the two rollers you put the clothes in and it wrongs out the water etc.. I got my left arm caugt in it.. and then not long after skinned me alive took a fair whack of skin off my elbow. i have a munty as scar still. looks more like a burn. except on closer look you can see the skin layers where it was ripped off my arm..

Cant beleive i didn't remember these.
(forgot what number im on). When I was young I was running down some stairs in my grand mothers house I tripped and fell down the stairs, bit my tongue almost completely in half. I cant taste alot of things now. Cant beleive I forgot about that. I can taste most things but theres a great deal of odd flavors that I do not have at all. I do not taste ham, I do not taste most beans, its pretty random what I dont taste.
I was a pretty wild little kid, I used to climb tree's all the time. I fell out alot too. On my face I have 3 scars from falling out of trees. Not big ones, but they look like fighting cuts  so If anyone asks about them I'm like  Yea when I was yonger I used to fight alot...
Another time when I was young, I was hooking up a sega genesis to our VCR so I could play my fav game mickeys magical castle or somethin :D was an AWESOME game!, tv fell straight on my head and *****ed the tv screen.

Hit with the copper end of a golfstick during my mothers weddingday reception when I was 8. Very unfortunate timing really if you think about it, daughter get¦s a concussion on your wedding night and bleeds on your weddingdress on the way to the hospital.

We went to south america to help them combat drugs....Our base camp was in the middle of nowhere, everything was flown in, no roads, no running water, no electicity.
Well alot of us came down with green drips...hard to explain really...but no way it was the clap, nobody around us, and none of us were 'that way'.
"All I could think of was "How the hell am I going to explain this to my wife?"
Finally got nerve to go to the flight surgeon...turns out we had to use Diesel fuel to burn the human waste. Gave us all an infection down there.

last year I finally got my pilonidal cist removed after 4 years of not so much pain and lots of fluid draining.
now I have a scar from almost my rectum all up to the end of my spine, and a depression on where was one of the fluid draining holes that showed up.
also I have been afflicted by an allergy since last year that makes me coffing all day and night.
...dunno wtf it is. Lungs are ok, throat is a bit sour, and apparently, instead of having a dripping nose, the fluids are going to the throat instead.
and during last job I somehow managed to get a scoliosis. had to quit that job because of that since I cannot any longer handle with big weights.
tbh, since I removed the cist, I have visited the doc more times in 3 months than in the previous 3 years.

When I was younger I was clearing the driveway of snow, I managed to knock my own feet out from under me and hit myself in the face with the sharp end of the shovel.
Split my chin open and put a dent in the bone.

At 7 I ran by a carussel when a guy let loose and flew torwards me running at full speed, knocking my feet off the ground and I hit a 30cm radius stick sticking out of the ground, intended as chair, with my upper lip. Still have the scar, from beginning of my upper lip to the nose.
With 14 I sled down a hill together with a friend and got my shoulder dislocated by a tree. I had two laprums ruptured which didnt heal and got worse over 2 years till finally after some unnatural movement I got my shoulder dislocated the 20th time in my life. From then on, it dislocated every second day so I got it fixed, 16 years old. Doctor told me it would have been difficult if I had waited another two years . Never had any problems since.

Hmm, where to start  So many things - but I'll post the most significant.
1. Broke my Jaw by running into a Big Red Cast Iron post box.
2. Broke my collar bone from a flying plastic bread tray - which then caused me to fall with an old mechanical rolling pin machine which broke 5 of my ribs and punctured my lung.
3. Malaria (Sulphur drug drips are bad, and make you feel worse  )
4. Bilharzia.(Look it up, not pleasant, but should have guess being near the 'Dutch Bilharzia research center' in Malawi )
3 & 4 I got whilst living in/aroudn the African Continent for 2.5 years.

When I was 9 I was in a car accident, a drunk driver swerved into our lane...I was sitting on the bed in one of those designer vans. When we hit, I flew into the sit infront of the bed, broke that one my way to the front of the van and the steel cylinder of the front passenger seat finally ended my flight, was unconicous for an hour or so.
I've had chronic back pain ever since.
Strange Illness....About 5 years ago i was having pain in my tailbone(felt like sitting on a golf ball), ended up being a pocket of spinal fluid that built up between two muscles. The fluid finally found its way out to drain.
Well having a hairy bum anyhow, the hair would work its way inside the little sinus cavitity and over time it made the tiny hole into the size of a nickel.
Ended up having to have surgery to lower my cleft to stop the problem.

Yup....I've gotten one since my surgery, but the problem with my hair and the hole didnt happen, Thank God. Smells aweful. |

I had my eyes taken out when I was 7 (they looked in different direction prior, so I guess they were working on the optic muscle thingys). I didn't know some surgeon had my eyeballs resting on my cheeks until years later, but I remember looking in the mirror the day after the op and my eye sockets were just red bloody bags of fluid. I was just annoyed that I couldn't read this new comic that had come out called 2000AD.

frequent bathing (once (or twice, when in summer) every day), and usage of betadine cream in a gauze bandage made things more comfortable, altho you would need to deal with occasional rashes due to the adhesive used to keep the gauze in place, and the removal of the adhesive glue from the skin itself in the summer.
would be expensive in the long run tho. I used 1 pack of betadine cream per month, and a couple of gauze boxes per week.

This is turning out to be a whole lot scarier than the 'Interesting ways to kill people' thread
I've been thinking back a bit in light of what people have recounted - like one other person in this thread, I chipped a milk tooth (on a brick wall, though, not a coffee table) and had to wait a few years for it to fall out. There was also an occasion when an unwitting parent very nearly drove over one of my feet as they were pulling away from the kerb, but that doesn't count because they managed to stop and reverse in time, avoiding any injury.
Alas, I've spent very little time in hospital - no stitches, no interesting scars; and from what some of the people here have posted, I'm increasingly glad of it

My most embarrasign wasnt summat i did to myself but more a girl i went on a date with, we went for few drinks and a movie afterwards and things went relly great. That is until i leaned in to kiss her, now u know how u get that ticklign feeling in ur nose and u dont know whether its gonna be a sneeze or not? well i'd had that for liek 20mins so i thought it was just gonna irritate me, leaned in and then huge sneeze headbutted her square in nose and spent 4 hours in A&E to find out i'd fractured bridge of her nose, bless her we ended up beign togetehr for 2yrs after that lol

After a rain storm I was running barefoot in the grass, jumped up on our wooden deck, my feet slipped out from under me. My left middle finger was the only part of my body that made contact with the edge of the deck, so it took all my weight.
After laughing my ass off at falling, went into the house to wash my hands. My left middle finger was bent at the first knuckle from the tip at 90 degrees!(not something you can do with your hand without bending the lower knuckle, your brain won't let you do it), I stretched the tendon out, and it took about a year for it to shrink back...

lots of amusing stories, I'll share some of my mishaps with you guys as well :)
1. Will this hurt?
Was around 5 years, standing on a bridge with mommmy and someone who is still my friend this day. I utter the words "You think this will hurt" and jumps off the (small) bridge. Break my pinky-finger. I seem to recall that it did infact hurt.
2. Dunno how I did that
Was 7 or 8 years old and on a boattrip with the family and some of their friends. Sitting on top of the boat as a wave hits, I fall down and get a nail in my eye. Lots of screaming and crying during the almost two hrs it took to get back to land. My eye still works, but I can brag about once getting 2 stiches on my eyeball :)
3. Sledding (snowsled, sp.?) with brother
aged 10. While racing my brother I somehow manages to crash into one of those electrical poles, which happened to be supported by steel wire. Cut pretty deep into the neck. Bled alot, had to be rushed to the hospital - again.
4. Bicycling accident
Aged 10. Riding a bit too fast while trying to take a turn, crashed, some blood. Nothing unusual about this one, but across the road there were an old lady waiting for the bus. She obviously got pretty scared and rushed towards me. I was sitting there, looking pretty confused, and all she managed to say was "Do you want an apple", don't recall what I answered, but I laugh every time i think about it.
4. School accident 1.
aged 15. I As I've always been pretty competitive I generally tried to finish off the gym contestst as fast as possible, This event was an obstaclecourse. When we got to the place where we were supposed to swing from rope to rope, I decided that I might just as well try and jump directly to the second or third rope. Missed the rope, missed the soft crashlandingsite and twisted my knee out of its position. It filled up with blood and was "quite" painfull. Ripped one of the tenders (sp.?) in the joint.
5. Stupid sports accident.
aged 17 I used to be a pretty good swimmer, but in the national championships I was competing in 400m medley in an outdoors pool. The sun was shining and I couldn't see much on the backstroke leg. While swapping from backstroke to breast I managed to crash my nose into the poolside. Damn that hurts popped into my mind. Didn't realise that it was both bleeding and broke before I'd finished off the event.
6. Snowboard
aged 22 I crashed hard doing a 450, board sticks in the snow. Once again I wreck my knee/leg. Get a lift down with the scooters and they want to send me away to the hospital. I don't want to go to the hospital as I think it'll probably pass in a week or so. Goes to the bar, get really drunk (knee hurts). Fall backwards, hit a table, crushes beerglass. 22 stiches, fractured leg, very swollen knee and a ripped tendon.
7. Surfing
Aged 26, tried surfing for the first time, and somehow I manage to cut away a chunk of one of my toes. I didn't hit the seafloor or anything, but I cut my toe on one of the fins on the board I bought just 25 minutes earlier. I'd never felt really stupid until this happened....
Hope some of theese accidents were interresting/amusing. I seem to get into a lot of them, but these were the only ones I find somewhat amusing today.

When me and my sister were younger we were playing catch with a harmless nerf ball. She was on top of my bunk bed i was on the floor... under a light fixture... she threw the ball a little to enthusiasticly and hit the light fixture... it crashed down on my head leaveing a nice big scar at my temple.
Another day when we were all quite older, my sister was rideing her bike in our yard randomly, and one of my little brothers walked in front by mistake... now get this, she runs him over and he is unharmed but she manages to tangle her leg around the bike when she crashed and break her leg at the knee.

Last weekend I cut through part of my hand with a saw.
I hardly ever injure myself, I'm usually very careful with ANYTHING I do. I was cutting through some 3/4" MDF board to make a mount for an amplifier for my car. I got a few strokes in, and one of the saw teeth got caught on the board mid-stroke. The saw jumped out of the slot it was in and landed right on my left hand (mid-stroke).
Basically sawed through my thumb and index finger (but not through the bone, just all the way down to it).
Its bandaged, surgically glued, etc and healing. Supposedly total time to heal enough to take everything off is 10-11 days or so. Definitely the worst injury I've ever had, and I'm 27.

Ha! Got you all beat! I died when I crashed into a pole while skiing! That's right folks I'm typing to you from the afterlife!
In all seriousness though I've been very lucky, never had any injuries though I know I have tried... One of my more famous ones is I held a lit match over the opening to a, recently emptied, metal gas can... The fumes ignated but fortunately the can didn't explode.

Bit deep into my tongue while trying to catch a small bouncy ball when I was real little. Slammed my jaw into my knee...wasn't serious though. A little while after the blood was gone and it was fine again.. >>
Also, I was born with some extra tissue around the middle bone in my left 4th finger. It slowly grew as I did and I eventually had to have it surgically removed. Had to have some physical therapy for it after that. All I really remember is that the guy gave me "bubble gum" asthetic, but it reeked of cheap plastic.
Another time was that I was skiing, and as I turned right my right foot slipped and i fell. All i knew was that it seemed like I blacked out as reached out behind me to slow the fall. Woke up maybe a minute later with a bloody nose. Headed to the chairlift and right back up the mountain, undaunted.
And one other little incident - my mom ran over my foot with my family's station wagon.
...nothing happened whatsoever. No broken bones, no bruise, no pain.
Not very spectacular, really. :P

Aged 14 i Jumped out of a tree onto a trampoline, i was propelled face first into a tree, shattering my cheekbone, if im tired or abit ill you can still see and feel small shards of bone in my cheek(when my face is a bit sunken).
Amusing injury 2 occured when i was 18, i was going up to a friends flat through a bottom floor fire escape, i knelt down to tie my shoelaces got up abit fast and smashed my head into the downturned door handle, 2 minutes later a friend who was going up jsut infront of me wondered where i was came back down to find me knocked out with my head in a pool of blood, 13 staples holding my scalp together :).
and as for illness i had bronchitis which i thinks wierd.

well bout a year ago i went to the hospital for almost cutting my left thumb off.... i know what makes that make this thread?
well i did it with an rubber band and a minnie suramic cup.... i shoot the cup twice, the first time it was all cool and whole, the second time it was jagged and mean.... to this day there is a chunck off me on our local mall....

My big toe got caught in some machinery when I was about 8-9y old, and the skin got completely stripped off it, was a pretty disturbing experience.

Shards of bone from around the rim of my ancle joint have broken off and migrated into the joint. The doctor takes some xrays and says "well those are not supposed to be there"
Oh yeah, Enjoy new improved Lith now with 50% less tendon strength. 21 years old and shopping for canes.
