Please do this. Not sure what the reasoning is behind 22 hours but you should really just tie it to reset at downtime for those of us who are more erratic in our play times and availability... and the sake of sanity as it is a predictable and reliable marker.
Thanks.

i would benefit from this no end personally as i could pop on after dropping the kids to school and get my two days worth but thats not exactly fair now is it. letting it reset at dt lets everyone do it at a time best for them however ccp wont do this because ccp wants you logged in. 22hrs mean you need to get on two hrs earlier every day and every minute you are not on you know you are losing sp. They took the toxic nature of dailies and brought it up another level. this change is not for the players so don't think it is. This change is just to up the pcu how it affects us is irrelevant to ccp so long as their numbers improve
Considering I log in everyday anyways, they already have a count for me. However, the problem is I have an odd schedule so I do not always log in at the same time of day. DT would be fairest to everyone and fact is: PCU will still count someone as logged in that day regardless of whether it was 1 hour before DT then 15 minutes after DT. Does it matter if the PCU gets a full 22 hours before the next logon from a different account.
Also, if it was purely PCU driven, they would not have limited it to the first character on the account to kill an NPC.
DT serves everyone, the customer in particular, the best.

Lugh Crow-Slave wrote:what do you mean by limmiting it one per acc they get more acc to log in as people with 20+ acc will be more likely to log in.
I mean: they currently only allow one character to collect the bonus per account. If you log in and try to collect it for the other characters on your account, you will find the timer active and counting down from the time the first killed an NPC.
Not asking for them to be sensible guarantees nothing will change.
So I am asking. Regardless of your skepticism.

Sobaan Tali wrote:Forgive me if it somehow sounds arrogant; I'm confused as to why this is such a big deal to everyone. Why not, you know -- call me crazy, log in like normal? You assume you know what normal means.
For some, normal is quite irregular from others who log in at, say, 4 PM each day and play.
If my motivation for logging in were tied to the dailies, then it would actually hurt CCP's PCU Since there are days I play 5-8 hours earlier in the day from the prior day then won't be able to sign in before DT.
It is fairer to the players overall to have the time set to downtime than it is some arbitrary 22 hour time period. In the case of DT: there are no loses: CCP still gets a daily PCU count as people will log in for the daily then log off when they choose to.

Easy for things to get lost in 100 pages of posts. Thus, this thread.

Serendipity Lost wrote:So DT isn't just a daily event. We call it the daily downtime because it happens once / day and pretty much at the same time every day. This is a testament to how well CCP runs the physical part of the game and how bug free (on the server fails scale) Eve actually is.
There have been times in the past... the memory leak thing for example (and I don't know what that means, I just know what it did to my game time). Eve could have several forced down times a day if something goes amiss. There have been post patch times where Eve would run for minutes or maybe half an hour and then poof. Over and over again.
Something that maybe not everyone notices is that when Eve reboots (cycles through a down time) - a lot of crap gets reset. Anoms, belts... all kinds of stuff. I'm not sure exactly how the server resets work, but it's quite possible CCP had a good reason for not tying the daily SP thing to downtime and making it 22 hours instead of 24.
On a slightly different tac. STFU. CCP just handed you free skill points for logging in and killing ANY FREAKIN NPC YOU LIKE. And what do you stooges do??? You're sitting here running a ***** thread about how these free freakin SPs should be handed out. This thread is the classic "This gold brick you gave me is too heavy" garbage.
Can't you just be happy that CCP is handing out free SP that a week ago didn't exist? Seriously - WTF???
1 - You assume they could not have it reset at a specific time, such as 10 AM GMT. 2 - I would prefer for the dailies to be removed, period. But as that is not as likely as a change to the timing, I made this request. 3 - Sometimes free gold is heavy, just because it is free, does not mean it should not weight the same as other gold in the game. ie: reset when other things reset.
4 - The plus side is that CCP at least ensured it was 22 hours not 24 hours so you don't lose time.
