I was expecting this game to blow, i expected it to nail the coffin on C&C. O my god was i wrong.... This game is EXACTLY what the C&C series needed. All those who hated generals and thought that Tiberium Sun and Red Alert 2 didnt live up to the origional, here is finally what you've been waiting for! ALSO, i cant actually believe EA managed to do such a good job after they butchered Generals! Im still shocked

You can get it on BitTorrent too, probably downloads a lot faster than through a website.

Well I just played the GDI mission in the demo, it's a big step up from the crapfest Generals was. I quite liked it. Those mammoth tanks are insane though, I levelled the entire map with about 8 of them and the railgun upgrade. I'll have to try some skirmishes next.
So much as it pains me to say it, good job EA. Who knew you'd eventually find a diamond buried under all the crap

Word.
After my experience with the demo, i can forsee multiplayer games being solo pwned by 13yo losers with nothing better to do than work out the optimum way of contructing tons of ****ty units and swamping an enemy entirely - but for me, the single player missions and the different ways you can use all of the units etc will be great fun.

Yep what he said, every RTS is rush v's rush. I heard people crapping on about supreme commander actually requireing tactics...nope it was rush v's rush as is every other. C&C i only ever played for single player anyway, uber kick ass story line . --------

That's why I liked Outpost 2 so much. Most of the multiplayer games would last a good 2-3 hours, some even longer than that. Rushes rarely worked because not only did you have to build structures to access new tech, but you had to research it too. In a 3 vs 3 game you'd usually have 2 players on each side as Plymouth and 1 as Eden (bit like GDI and NOD). Plymouth was good early in the game and served to defend Eden against rushes by the other side. Eden needed more time to research their tech, but eventually they could build the most powerful tank in the game, Thor's Hammer, which was basically a mobile tesla coil.
That game is 10 years old now but had more fun in the multiplayer than any RTS game I've played since.

It's like that on small maps, yes, but on the large ones, it's pretty much impossible to rush, due to the sheer size of the map. First you need to locate your oponent, and finally, when you launch your rushing force, chances are, by the time they get there, he's already built up good defences.
Supreme commander on large maps = epic strategy win. SC on small ones = Standard rushing RTS tactics. ------------------------- Sigs are for noobs. |

What this man says be the truth. You cant simple rush win in SupCom's huge maps. Youll get beasted and counterattacked.

lol exactly what i said in the other thread. First thing i did in the game was try to get a better view. Then got annoyed when i could sc*****my eyes of the pavement more than a few metres.
Chris Taylor was right it IS the first thing you do in an RTS.

My solution to the dilemma is simple, I'm getting them both. C&C for the uber storyline and fast action, SupCom for the mega-battles on the huge maps
this signature space is claimed in the name of eris, haha I got to him first. neeneer
