Yes, have fun selling those topes you bought for 1400 ISK. We already sold ours.
A brilliant catchpenny scheme that netted us billions, before we got out and popped the bubble behind us. You've got to remember that these are just simple miners. These are people of the land. The common clay of New Eden. You know... morons. |

You said "brilliant" when you meant "moderately annoying effort that didnt pay for the time invested."

Uh no, it did. The goon rich folks made stupid amounts of isk for tiny amounts of effort, way way more than was spent paying the gankers who made a decent amount of isk off bounties and scamming the criminally idiotic (and that's just in isk, in the most valuable currencies of 'having fun playing eve' and 'making people cry' the gankers are truly wealthy, just ask Mittani about his 83 successful ganks or Atrum about his 382).
All the goons involved in the scheme made out like bandits, but do hold to your irrational just world theory. Denial is almost as fun to read as conspiracy theory |

Which is almost as fun as reading Brazilian S&M ****. "I believe the Winter expansion needs to be a huge success, and so they are giving us ice cream, and cake, and ice cream cake, and pizza, and hookers, and blow, and pizza. Any and everything they think players want and they can do by winter, they will stuff into this expansion." |

So you are saying the leader was great at exploiting the work of the rank and file by cashing in on their ability to time the market - well duh.
If you want to call exploiting your own alliance mates brilliant I guess thats up to you. Wherever You Went - Here You Are |

Sorry, looking in Sinq Laison prices have not seen a big drop yet. In fact it is still as high as 10 days ago when it WAS happening.
And yes, I saw those goonie posts about it......but for some reason I have trouble trusting them. Not sure why. This could just be a scam to get us to drop our stocks and further the price inflation. :) |

You could notice that the political map shows up picking up sov in a dozen systems in branch and the threads about us going to war and intuit that we might be busy enough elsewhere to make maintaining the blockade less of a priority,
Or you could lose isk betting that we're going to continue and the sotg recording was a fake and be really mad about it on the forums. |

This is funny. Nothing invested in the current trend. (Yes I did buy up about a billion in ice at 300-350 and unloaded it all at the 400-450 range.) So I am out as it were.
And Akita, I agree meh. They failed to reach the tipping point, and thus got bored before it got really good.

Why don't you ask white noice about that? 2000 pilots from the CFC alliance ran into Branch region to burn it down and take more Tech moons. Also, the reimbursement is dropped and Concorde kills give no insurance.
The Ice Interdiction is dead for now. Just wait for it to drop down to 700 or so. Will take just a few days |

I'm confused, is 100%/month considered a good ROI for a multi-hundred man effort?
It seems you'd make more ISK mining veldspar for 3 months. |

You are comparing a ratio to a flat rate. Mining Veldspar: x millions per hour, every hour for 3 months And it's more like 500% ROI A few dozen bored goons extracting tears for 3 months + buying y billion ISK of oxygen isotopes = 5y billion ISK

The two big Jita purchase rushes when it kinda' started were for somewhere around 1 bil units total on top of the usual oxytope traffic, and those purchases were made at an average of around 550 per, so call it 550 bil "buy in" costs for Jita stockpiles. Let's assume for a moment the unthinkable that almost all of those purchased isotopes were Goon purchases, and that in the next two and a half months or so, almost all LATER sales when prices were high enough were made by Goons (that would still account for less than a third of the total sales, and most of the sales near peak prices), for an average price of around 1350 per, give or take.
So 800 ISK profit per piece give or take (ignore taxes and other trivialities) times 1 bil units or so equals 800 bil maximum theoretical revenue from the Jita side of things. That's approximately an average of 60% RoI per month, by the way, give or take (145% across the entire op - no idea where you got the 500% from).
The resulting 800 bil ISK might be nothing to scoff off at from an individual's perspective, but at an alliance level, not all that great. A technetium tower can yield about 20 bil ISK in the rough interval that the blockade happened, so that's the revenue of 40 technetium towers. There is at least one region with almost twice as many tech moons, and a few others with about as many.
Sure, maybe it happened in a similar fashion in other regions, but I don't think the rest of the markets combined are that much more than Jita alone. So, yeah, the fearless leaders could have theoretically made quite a bundle http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Contributor_name:Akita_T#Contributions_link_collection |

With your lowball approximations, it only yielded as much as an entire technetium-rich region of space filled with 40 POS, while destroying billions and billions of ISK in mining barges.
Obviously an epic failure. Look upon my posts, ye mighty, and despair. |

Let's say 100 accounts x 6 hours a day x 3 months x 15m/hour = 600*90*15 = 810b.. about the same as Akita's estimate :)
This is all super ballpark of course. Btw I think the 800b oxytope profit estimate is a bit high. So yeah veldspar ftw.
Now of course GOONS could be mining Arkonor. How much lost opportunity cost is that?
Still, this was fun and will definitely be recorded in the annals of EVE :) |

Goons made me about 100 billion isk. No complaints from this end. If some one else thinks they can do a better job than the Goons, I say let them try, the more the merrier. The Goons get bonus points however for starting the ball rolling. |

Except instead of mining for six hours a day every day the gankers spent an hour once every couple days and the market tycoons even less time.
And even, maybe, had a bit of fun. |
