Secondly, most of the posters here are either clueless, or miss the point entirely. The northerners don't have to win here. They just have to keep BoB and their vassels spread out for a while. They know it, and BoB knows it. It would make no sense at all for them expend wads of isk and resources on a full scale assult at this time.
Real Soon Now(tm) BoB is going to be facing the same thing that LV has been facing, and they aren't going to fare much better. Right now, the undeniable truth is that big numbers > big guns in Eve. I'm sure it won't always be that way, but it is right now. When the 1000 man fleets come knocking, neither big skill nor big skill points nor big ships will save BoB. Short of lag and node crashes disappearing miraculously and just in time, BoB's days are numbered.
You can say all you want to about it being lame or unfair or what-have-you, but the simple truth is that you have to play the game as you find it, or go home. BoB always has. That's the way they got big, and that's the way they'll be taken down. This chapter will end, and another will begin. So it goes.
I like this post.... I believe this is more or less what is going to happen.
I've said it before and I'll say it again if the coalition keep it together, its game over for BoB and anybody that allies with them. Atm it does look like steady progress is being made with 9cg being taken.
Congratz to the coalition for taking 9cg, its strategic importance is immeasurable in the south.
Furthermore if the coalition can manage to remain magnanimous in victory, not only will it indicate great military accomplishments but also strong moral fibre.... and that is going to be as important in this war as Capital Ships and POS.
[edit:typo]
I think you guys would be right if it wasnt for the fact that BoB has shown itself to be so competent at using its cap ship advantage. Seems to me that the number advantage is going to be going up against a pretty massive cap ship advantage between BoB and MC... no so much in numbers of cap ships but in their ability at using them strategically.
Seems to me that the number of titans BoB is deploying might very well be enough to stop even those thousand ship fleets cold given the impressive planning BoB has shown over the last months in their use.
Though, then again, they might not. Will be interesting to find out really. Though I personally think its hardly going to be one sided in the coalitions favor even if the coalition holds together.

... not really... this is the first tangible victory on BoB soil (assuming 9cg is kept out of BoB hands). In this thread the coalition has been fairly restrained in their postings.
I'd say the tone in this thread is about right.
Oh, ok, I see now. You can randomly add/remove who is part of the coalition at will to suit your posts. So, BE/goons/CA and all their smalktalk about rapetrain, ect dont count.

... perhaps I should have been more specific. The term "Coalition" is being coined to describe the myriad of alliances rallying together to take on BoB. And we can further break it down to the "Northern Coaliton" and the "Southern Coalition". With me so far?
As things stand, only the "Northern Coalition" has thrown its full weight directly onto BoB territories. The "Southern Coalition" is still wrapping up the LV territories as far as I am aware.
Now.... what I said was in reference to the "Coalition" as in the sum of the Southern and Northern portions. And so far the only tangible victory so far *against BoB* has been reported in this thread and with some degree of restraint.
Goons and CA have been at it with LV for some time now.. so that section of the conflict is really only a precursor for the real show and is not what I was referring to.
Hence... the "Coalition" still has the opportunity to be magnanimous if they achieve victories against BoB itself. Whether or not the "Coalition" has shown restraint in the build up to this conflict or not, is another matter and one which I did not comment on.

I mostly just find myself wondering if in the end, anything will count other than who has the most Titans. Oh sure, you still need other capitals and support, but every one of these is a gamebreaker.
Titanwise, the Coalition forces are hugely in the hole when it comes to a count on how many of these exist. They've currently shown what, two? Its going to take a long war indeed for those numbers to even out, and then only if pressure can be maintained on the BoB & friend building facilities.

Thoth, I don't think it's your question that has people flaming you...it is the way you asked it, using the word "Magically" would imnply something fishy going on in what RZR did and thats prolly whats got people riled up.
Perhaps next time you should just ask the question straight
Possibly, if it was, it was a misunderstanding.. that was just to highlight the adamance from zimi that they didnt spam.. when sofar dispite the repeated flaming, it looks very much like they did..
As soon as CCP decides that having more POS in a system than your enemy is no long required for sovreignity, then I'm sure everyone will stop "spamming" POS...your friends in BoB included. I mean, what exactly would be call what the BNC.E guy was doing last night in 9CG after sovreignity was lost to Razor? heheh...
Since there is something like 40+ moons in 9CG and the Coalition has, over the course of three weeks put up a small number of POS, I don't personally think its activities qualify as wanton POS spamming.
Lets just assume everyone involved (on both sides) is going to do what they can to meet their objectives in this conflict and leave it at that.

It is an aspect of the game i certainly wont miss, I dont believe it is well implemented. And unfortunately, your post is prolly very accurate. From my past experience, it is not an aspect of the game anyone enjoys, or aims for when they have the PVP ability to avoid it. _________________________ xMenta (DSMA) xBOS (CA) xATUK (.5.) xDICE (BOB) |

As far as i can tell you , you havent managed to score a single victory versus bob . Are you guys suffering from the ASCN syndrome ?
Only "victories" BoB had so far in Querious are when they use the Doomsday Device. In fact, last time they "won" an engagement in Querious they had to use two Titans with Doomsday. The Coalition controls upper Querious, only now and then there's a 5 man FIX gatecamp in 3-F.
Regarding POS 'spammage', the Coalition has been busy and still is with destroying Allied Starbases in Querious, not just in 9CG or ED-. BoB put up a large tower in 9CG last night, we immediately got a fleet together, even though our numbers were very low, and we started pounding the POS with roughly 10-15 bs's. Now, if you know anything about POS, then you'll know that hitting a large tower with only 10 bs's takes ages, especially when you have a hostile mothership in said POS.
Anyone saying the Coalition isn't progressing in Querious obviously isn't near the region, come down and see for yourself who's winning the war.
Yes your control of running back to Empire is impressive when we showed up today, the closest you guys came to anything of "winning" or "controling" Querious was with a 120man fleet to P-F (6 jumps away) to stop the sieging of ALL your POS's and the destruction of a few today including the one that had over 20 hardeners on it. Then you ran back to Empire when we sent half the forces to deal with you guys.
POS warfare win's nothing, stop hiding in empire and only fighting at your POS's then when you do you can consider using the terms of "Winning" or "Control".

Ok for the record.... first off no-one from razor has been popping their chest out about gaining sov in 9cg. In fact it has been pointed out that we EXPECT it to be a game of ping pong. To that end I'll add what happened tonight.
BoB/MC/Fix turned up with a massive cap fleet of approximately 19 dreads, 9 carriers a couple of MS and 2 titans. They then jumped in a large ish sized BS fleet. Before they arrived there was 8 blues (coalition) in local, 1 hour later 268 in local 23 blue (coalition). Hey... we chose not to engage although my crow was itching to have a go at shrikes big ship!
Hostile fleet went out and camped 3-f choke point with around 150 ish combo BS/support. That's the start and end of tonight's lil addition to the story unfolding.
Now ffs chill out and let's have some fun.... this could and should go on for months. Bob have had some victories and so have we. In fact a little bit of respect to them for not doing the chest thumping routine either. KB numbers mean squat, let's just wait till the dust has cleared at the end of this epic and see who still holds the field.

Both sides are obviously nubs. The RA we know and love would have put 38 Large POSs up in no time (given tht 2 moons were taken by BoB).
Arguably my opinions represent to an extent the opinions of my alliance and in particular circumstances give rise to a valid "casus belli" claim. |

I'm not saying that the BoB side will come out on top in this war, but this simply isn't true. As a resident of BoB space, I can tell you first hand, we regularly form up gangs and go roaming from delve all the way over to Teneferis, and I'm not kidding when I say it's often hard to find any hostiles to kill.
Now, you can say whatever you want about the odds, or the outlook, or the current pos status, etc. But on this specific quote, you're incorrect.
Querious has been the hotspot lately, with all the northern folks fighting FIX for space, but other than that and the occasional gang of AAA, it's mostly small fleets of nanophoon/domi/curse (we see 2-3 of these a day) and solo PVPers. It's far from "overrun".

First off, I'm a BoB fanboi (yeah, I like Sir Molle cause he is swedish, or at least I heard he was )
But I still think it's gonna be very damn hard fighting a multiple front war, so it pretty much boils down to how long FIX and LV holds out.
Then again, I'm drunk and have nothing to do with this war, nor do I wish I had, but I still wish everyone involved a good war with lots of good fights! Keep the smack low and bring us good reports that those of us out of this war loves to read!

IRON/Razor/MM/Some other peeps aren't multiple alliances? Only BoB Cap Fleet and/or Titans has been there to help FIX. You guys have killed 1 maybe 2 POS's . . . You guys have lost 9 dreads 6 to BoB and 3 to MC. You guys have lost a few Carriers but I think FIX has too so I don't count them. You guys have lost quite a few POS's now. lol, there were only like, 2 bob pos and one mc pos in 9cg to begin with. It shouldn't have been that hard to get more pos up than that in a 40 moon system, that is, if the coalition is as in control of Q as all your forum warriors have been reporting.
Also, you guys can say whatever you want about FIX. At the end of the day, you felt the need to bring 5+ alliances to Q and I think that speaks louder than forum posts. I wonder how many alliances in your coalition of northern territories would do as well under those odds.
