Edited by: HongHi Choi on 02/03/2007 09:25:05 These missions are ridiculous for their lvl. I mean what lvl4 mission is timed and starts with 3 BC and 5 HACs agroing you on enter? And the damage they take - damn! I've done some lvl4s that much easier than this. And just when i destroyed the BCs andother wave comes to help with more BCs moer HACs and some support. If that isnt ridiculous i dont know what is. And it has the same reward (or worse) than the extravaganza and massive attack, which i solo without any problem. IMHO it is very dissbalanced. They should all be one lvl higher than they are now.

..well, if the mission is too hard, then take a bit lower level mission, what is less complicated. Yeah, it does pay less, but you get the right risk/reward level. Only when the tide goes out, you see who's been swimming naked... - Mr. Buffet |

The Blockade is not timed. Certain ships in that mission, in each wave, triggers a new wave.
Some missions are not just *Warp in, press F1-F8*. --- It have always fallen to a few to sacrifice for the good of many |

Donno what lvl 4 you are doing but I start with a bunch of battleships, and they are not timed, one particular ship is the trigger for the next wave. Most of the times it's a unique ship in the wave, sometimes it's not. Still, at least the Sansha version, isn't very hard for a lvl 4, just takes a bit.

Sounds like the OP is doing the level 3 version, as he does not mention any battleships.
Certainly for the level 3 version, find the rat which has a name different to all the others - in other words, a unique name - and leave that one until last. Killing this one will spawn the next wave. The waves are not timed, but triggered.
For the level 4 version, generally do the same thing, but if there is no uniquely named rat, then leave the battleships until last, as destroying the first of these will trigger the next wave.
If you follow the above advice, you should, like me, find the Blockade missions to be quite easy and enjoyable, if a little on the long side. The rewards on the level 4 version are fairly large - about 20 million in bounties and mission rewards, and a huge amount of loot, some of it worth a bit.
I have never run the DED version, so can't comment on that.

I've honestly never had a problem on the serpentis or guristas version of this mission, both level 3 and level 4. The target jamming/dampening is kind of annoying but is still doable. Just have to know which rat triggers the next wave and you are set.
This mission I still find way easier then stuff like Worlds Collide and Angel Ganza, both which still clean my clock every time.

since when have there been HAC's in lvl 3 missions? i haven't even seen them in lvl 4's. blockade is so simple if you just folow this 1 rule - don't shoot the highest bounty ship (thats the trigger) if there are 2 that are highest bounty it will be the one grouped with the other BS not the loner. now stop complaining about this mission. i like me 25mil in 50 minutes

lvl 3 blockade have ships with HAC lvl resistances. I assume the same goes for the lvl 4 version, having ships with high resistances. --- It have always fallen to a few to sacrifice for the good of many |

I just did the lvl 3 blockade (sansha version) twice today to increase standing for my alt. Not a single HAC. Every cruiser and battle cruiser took 2-3 cruise volleys.

Try the guristas version. I've done that enough to know that there are ships with high lvl resistances. Dire rats. --- It have always fallen to a few to sacrifice for the good of many |

Pack precision cruise missiles (if you can use T2 launchers, that is) and make sure you use the right damage type. It makes quite a lot of difference.

Every time I do the level 2 and 3 version, I find rats with huge resistances. When I do it the level 4 version, there are none. The first time I did this mission, I almost got destroyed many times because I did not find out about the triggers until the last wave and it was too late to make a difference. Now, I know what to do, and this mission is extremely easy as long I keep my drones under control. It is very profitable and fun.

I did the level 3 blockade (Sansha version) in a wolf and I thought their armor resistances were high, but I don't think they were any higher than usual for that rat type.
I made the above post with the full understanding that I would probably be flamed for my opinions |

Edited by: Andrue on 05/03/2007 08:25:42 Edited by: Andrue on 05/03/2007 08:24:33 The L3 Guristas Blockade does have some high level resist rats on the first wave. They are Pith Dire Infernos. Their bounty is (IIRC) 258k and they are worth it. I need going on a minute to pound them down using T2 cruise launchers and Wrath cruise missiles. They don't do much damage but they are far and away the hardest rats to pop of any L3 mission.
Even the BS you get on part 10/10 of that storyline pop quicker.
But let's be clear:I'm not complaining. I like that mission -- (Battle hardened industrialist)

Currently I am stuck not being able to kill the high damage resit ships on L3 guristas blockade. I do not have T2 capabilities. I have got most of the othes bcs and all with different names or types there have been 3 additional sets. Is ther one particular type that I can kill to complete. The ones I acn't kill are prefexed with Arch. I am using a Ferox with 5 heavy missles.

Only problem I have with the level 3 Guristas version is that the re-spawns are too far away, some of them spawn over 120km away from the warp in point. I end up killing the rat that forces the respawn as soon as possible so that the other spawns get in range quicker. I use a Drake and only have a lock range of 63km with a Heavy missile range of around 74km, I dont want to switch to a Raven just to be able to shoot the spawns at 100km. As for the difficulty, I dont have any problems with the level 3 version.

Try to train your long range targeting bit, i am at 70 Km targeting right now and still not maxed, also you can add modul whitch improve your range if can spare low or med slot.

Use a Drake instead of a Ferox.
