Timing can be everything, especially where appearances are concerned. There are some members of the community that appear to be taking great delight in digging up what they think is mud and casting it about, even going so far as to delve into the private lives of CCP staff. Another such instance arose yesterday.
We hired a GM at the beginning of the year and before last summer's BP incident came to light. Now there are some community members arm chair coaching and saying we should not have hired this person back in January based on events that happened in February.
Where is this going? Arkanon has a new blog that was just published concerning the player whose employment at CCP was made public knowledge and the shameful publishing of private information. The comment thread will be left open for as long as the replies stay on topic and not degenerate into accusations, flaming, etc. We feel that no further comment on this non-issue is necessary. Statement regarding recent allegations of staff misconduct.

For the record, The Enslaver is not GM Sunshine or Zhainius. As long as he is performing his duties to the satisfaction of his supervisor and the Director of IA, his GM name is immaterial and will not be released. There has been enough mud slinging and damage done by this event.

Originally by: Richard Aiel They dont seem to care when hackers hack other players but if they do it to THEM it becomes a tragedy... How does it feel CCP?
We cannot take action on behalf of players or in response to the hacking of third party web-sites, otherwise we run the risk of being a defendant in a lawsuit. It saddens the company greatly that this is happening to innocent members of the EVE community, like the five players that are being targeted and griefed because they, according to a certain website, are on the CCP payroll. The only proof of this? These players live in Iceland. Nothing more than they have an Icelandic IP address.
That is the true tragedy in all this, innocents are being targeted for lies and griefing because of an overinflated sense of self-importance on the part of some EVE community members.

Originally by: Richard Aiel Apparently, there were 3 other incidents that took place back then we never heard about.... http://www.icelandreview.com/icelandreview/search/news/Default.asp?ew_0_a_id=264532 note where it says:
Quote: Three other employees of CCP have been caught violating the companyÆs rules by playing EveOnline and were reprimanded or lost their jobs as a consequence.
While I am not sure about one of the events, I would guess two of the incidents mentioned involved the GM that was fired last summer for abusing his authority and the volunteer who was removed from ISD and perma banned for breaking the rules the summer before that, both of which were publically announced. Since the article does not go into specifics about the instances, it is impossible to take more than an educated guess.

I keep hearing rumors about a very recent incident, with a Nyx and a GM. Not sure if its true, but if it is, any chance you'd post about that?
Due to our privacy policy, I an not at liberty to say any more than the Developer (not GM) referenced is no longer with the organization.

The GM at the Goon POS was GM Zhainius, this has been cleared by Arkanon. He was working, nothing else. We have strict policies on reimbursement and you can naturally not touch petitions belonging to corp, alliance, friends, family and so forth.

No real offense to you Morpheus, but I don't think mailing CCP does anything, I've reported a number of threads in the past and for the most part maybe one or two were actually acted upon. The system is horribly broken.
I wish we had a report post or report thread button here on the forums rather than just emailing.
In game there needs to be a way to petition and it go directly to internal affairs, noone else even sees it. Because if they see it they can start to formulate their cover story if they haven't already. No need to give the wrongdoers forewarning.
Oh and I think you guys are gonna be busy today.....I need to go to bed so I can go to work.
I can assure you that every single mail sent to this mail address will be read and replied to. We appreciate player advice and information, and if you aren't happy we aren't happy. This department was founded to rebuild our customers trust and our integrity, all you need to do is give it a chance.
Going home for the weekend now, have fun all.

If you emailed the moderator team ([email protected]) about a forum thread, you should have received a reply as well. If there are issues regarding a forum thread you can report it to us, and if there is any bad stuff in there we can take the appropriate action (escalate it to GMs,IA etc).
