no wounder some one can probe down a ship in 40second s it not probing it takes no skill to use. all i can do is guess alot of people cryed about how hard it was to line up a target with probes. but i have to say ccp if you want probes let go back to the old ways or get rid of them all together and just mark a icon on the map to identy each type of ship on the map because that what probing is now. now we have citadales which dont show on rader but who cares one spread of probes and identify the cit move probe to red dot scan again and boom there it is now why are cit not on overview with probe it works just like if you had to refresh your over view it is a joke . |

There wasn't more skill in the old system, just a larger number of repetitive actions. |

1) Try adding citadels to your overview. 2) Some people are really good at probing. |

I actually sing that whenever I hit 100%.

I'm not sure I understand your complaint. Is probing too quick and easy currently? |

Yes probing is hilariously easy these days, it used to be an art of sorts where one could excel in. Also, it doesn't take 40 seconds to probe someone, it takes far far less. |

That depends on shiptype B. As someone who was an acclaimed master of the Apocrypha probing system when it first came out (people would start convo-spamming me whenever they needed a prober) there is NO reduction of skill necessary in the new system.
The only reason it takes less time to probe people is because you're spending less time moving each probe one at a time, which honestly just makes the process less arduous and frustrating.
If it pisses you off that much, fit an ECCM to screw with their probes. It won't stop someone like me with all the skills maxed out, Sisters gear, implants, rigs, and the mid-slot modules, but you'll make it harder for most people.

For someone who's supposedly an acclaimed master of probing and was doing it in Apocrypha, you'd know that the skill requirements for scanning as well as the game mechanics in Exploration have been drastically dumbed down since then.
So yeah, as someone who trained to use the original probing system before Apocrypha, I agree that the current scanning interface system is way too easy, it's no longer exploration, it's now instant gratification.
