Highs: 4 Medium nos 2 150mm Rail IIs
Meds: 1 Medium cap injector 1 Stasis web 1 Warp disrupter 2 Blank
Lows: 3 Medium armor rep IIs 1 Energized Adaptive II 1 Energized Reactive II 1 Energized Thermic II
I came up with this setup to take full advantage of the merm's huge drone bay and armor repping bonus. Quickfit says it should run indefinitely with the cap injector going. Please give me feedback on my setup. I especially need help with those two empty mid slots.

Well what are you doing with it? Anything less than large nos aren't usually very useful, you really don't need 3 reps for any setup, ever, use active hardeners, not passive.
I assume you're taking it into PvP, since you have a warp disruptor, you might try some damps, myrm pilots seem pretty fond of them, and you'll need an AB/MWD to control range.

Well if you are going for pure dronage then you will want 2 sensor damps on there, practacaly makes your drones invulnerable and forces them into NOS range.
Though i like inovative setups isnt 3 Reps overkill? Id take one off, put a Damage Control in and then you can upgrade the rest of the setup, especially those guns.
This is from a general angle, for a bait ship or some such that may work fine, but a triple rep tank will definatly be overkill, i assume it will run all the time with 800 cap charges, but firstly quickfit assumes you instantly fire of your cap charges when they load.
If you do this you will be low on charges very quickly so sustainability may be an issue..
Just my thoughts

As asid your 3x mar2 are a waste... drop to two, also my i recomend an mwd and web to get into and stay in web range. also as noted active hardners are golden (and find a way to put a dmg control in as hull tanking rocks)

How can you say 3 medium reps will run indefinatly with cap injectors? You only have room for "x" amount and then you can't run them.
I take it with the setup you have given it's for PVP with the warp disruptor though so as someone suggested use a sensor dampener or even try tracking disruptors as they work really well against anyone other than missile users who try to shoot you.
If it's just ratting you are doing and you are not worried about any type of interference from other pilots stick 5 cap rechargers 2's in the midslots. You can run 2 medium reps practicaly nonstop indefinatly without any rigs or lowslot mods to help with cap.

doubt it.. all the myrm has to do is warp..

A harderner also only works against ships firing on you. ECM is effeciently a harderner for your whole gang/fleet.

Edited by: madaluap on 03/03/2007 16:55:31 so cap heavy its scary. With no mwd ill probably just orbit you around 13 k (what i usually do) and laugh @ you.
/edit: or another option: gank right through those low resists while you get 1-2 cycles off max. _________________________________________________ Breetime

it would probably serve as a decent bait ship for a group or tackler. don't really see the point in the 3 reps tbh. if ur facing that much dps then i doubt u will survive it. also if u face most pvp bs these days they often have at least 1 heavy nos and often 2 so ur 3rd rep will be wasted.
might work in certain specialised situations. personally i prefer to upgrade my resists and turrets.

WTF is a 'MERM'...
Drop a rep, get a mwd, never leave a mid unused, drop to 2 nos, fit the correct size of guns, fit a damage control, use active hardners. -----

Drop an armor rep for a damage control drop all the adaptives and add 2 eanm 2s and 1 explosive hardener.
Blank slots put an ab or mwd and add another stasis web or ewar. __________________________________________ Yes it is great being amarr. I am minmatar, fly amarr, use gellente drones and am in caldari space. |

Merm is obviously a phonetic pronounciation of 'myrm' short for 'myrmidon'. The point of leaving the midslots blank in my OP is so you can suggest modules that could best be used there.
I don't take much stock in cookie-cutter follow-the-mob setup advice like "The Correct sized gun" "Damage control on everything".
According to quickfit, i can run this setup for 283 seconds. Its fairly unlikely that my or the enemies ship would survive for 4.5 minutes without popping either due to the dps dealt or friends warping in. I've also done a bit of math and the virtual hp added by that one extra repper over 283 seconds (time i could run with the cap injector running) is 34,526 hp. If i replaced that MAR II with a dcu II, it'd only add 19945 virtual hp. I do recognize that while the armor repper would add more hp over that hypothetical lasting time, it is still only an active module, and a cap heavy one at that, while the DCU II would be a passive module (negligable activation cost).
With the dps burden of the myrmidon being primarily on the drones, i've chosen to rely mainly on those, and focus the ship fitting towards a tank. Of all the low slot fittings i've tried out, this one provides the most amount of tank with 122 armor hp repaired per second under resists of 68EM 60EXP 71KIN and 50THERM. Another EANM II or another resist module, while boosting virtual passive hp, wouldnt come near the benefit of having a third armor repairer. I'd also like some input on what resist modules to use. Would t2 active hardeners use too much cap? If not, would the specific boosts to three types of damage overcome what the boost from an EANM and 2 specific energized resist mods?
Edit: I'm not going to engage a BS if i have to, plus how do medium nos and heavy nos compare?

heavy nos and yes the drone bays... but for yoursetup of being a pure drone machine you would be aswell spending your extra time training for the ishtar?
not so much the big guns but more sensor damps or tracking disruptors use the small guns to kill hostile drones, long range webber?

Bearing in mind your last 2 "innovative" setups got absolutely spanked, maybe you should? :P
Drop a rep, replace the resists with 2x EANM2, 1x energised explosive membrane 2, higher resists if i'm reading this right. The 2x med rep 2 is more than enough dps tanking, as anything capable of doing more than this likely has a big shiny "ii" on it, and will probably kick you in the teeth anyway. And for the love of all that is green and purdy, put a mwd on it, and hell, maybe a second injector if you want to be "innovative"

0/10 for a excessive NOS setup.
And I knew exactly what ship you meant, but I dont give a crap. Its not called a'MERMidon'. Its not even pronounced like that, and lord knows how one pronounces caps lock... -----

I use(this setup hits the wallet)
6 anode electron ions(which will be replaced with t2 in less than 2 days when small spec 4 finishes)
y-t8 mwd fleeting warp scrambler x5 web cap booster 2 balmer tracking disruptor <- sometimes swapped out for 2nd web(like when i popped a vagabond :D)
2 MAR II EANM II 3 energized membranes for kin/therm/exp
Anti-Explosive Pump I Nanobot Accelerator I Ancillary Current Router I
69/68/70/70 EM/EX/K/T which isnt too bad(actives will push to ~75)
Rips ships apart with 6 blasters and 5 heavy drones. tanks quite well too. long enough at least :)
Alt posting so you dont all try to gank me :p
