I dont think they are exploiting the system, they are just using it, as is is implemented.
We should try to focus on the reasons they use it this way.
Lets discuss this:
EVE, as it is now, divides the cummunity into PVE¦ers (often insulted to be carebears) and PvP¦ers (which claim themselves to be "real men"). PVE¦ers can stockpile vast sums of ISK¦due to trading and mission running in high sec and may feel perfectly happy there. PVP¦ers can shoot each other right through the head 23/7 if they wish to - but - and its a huge BUT, you have to be part of an alliance to do so - with all the consequences 0.0 ally life has to offer.
Many players simply dont want to be involved in that ally hassle (maybe they are playing a game called RL - strange storyline, but fantastic graphic, btw. ).
Those players, along with the part- and fulltime pirates who want to play on the other side of law have low sec, but - read above - for people who dont want to PvP, there is no need to go into low sec, as well as for people who live in 0.0. (yes i know, shopping, suplly, but come on...).So low sec is less populated, very few targets for pirates, only "hungry wolves". (Almost) no interaction between PVE¦ers and PvP¦ers (besides market of course)
So, why all this blah blah ?
Privateer is using the wardec system in a way that was surely never intended, due to a large frustration about the things stated above, there is a major flaw in EVE as it is now, you know, and iam not talking about races/ships, the game has reached its limits (allies, grotwth, ISK-inflation, souvereignity etc...) Eve has to change or die.
Read Oveurs post saying the will bring PVE players more close to PvP¦ers, so Privateers is only playing into the hands of CCP.
And yes, i personal don¦t like what privateers are doing, but i think i can understand why are they do it, and why they do it this way.
CCP, you draw next.

Meh, Privateers kinda makes Empire more interesting. Albeit, in a 0.0 kinda boring way (where you get camped in a lot), but also makes for some good ammo-magnets. ^_^

Originally by: Soporo It's not a hack or scam, but it is an exploit, of course most exploits become game features by sheer dint of age...
Its an exploit for an alliance to declare war on another alliance?
ROFLMAO
That's probably the funniest thing I've read in the forums in a while.
Anymore? how about:
"Its an exploit to fly a shuttle to try and avoid a gank fleet"
"Its an exploit to mine in high sec with a hulk"
"Its an exploit to plsy the damn game"

The eve worlds general opinion of Privateers is annoying and completely wrong.
yeah sure, we may kill a lot of haulers. When you guys are sitting in yr pocket of 0.0, do you let the haulers past, waiting for the BS to come along? No. neither do we.
The pilots in [bydi]are some of the best(and scariest)ive flown with.(Ugluuk, Seargant, Herra etc)
And whilst yes, some people might use dirty tricks like log-offs, there are members in every corp and alliance that will cheat to save their ship. We've seen several BS log-off on us over the past few days(check my bio ingame :) hehe)
Last night we took on 11 with 6, and won. Few hours later, my Myrm gets blobbed by 3 CS, 1 BS, 2 BC to begin with.
Everything we get accused of, everyone else does to us. But we have fun =]

Originally by: Farrellus Cameron Edited by: Farrellus Cameron on 04/03/2007 06:25:36 I'll tell you what it is. When a corporation leaves an alliance its instantaneous, none of that 24 hour stuff like when a person with rolls leaves a corp. So that they can't instaneously get out of the wardec, Concord automatically transfers the wardec to the corp and then retracts it, and that way it makes so that they keep the wardec for 24 hours after leaving the alliance.
It used to be an exploit that corps would be in an alliance with a wardec, fire on targets, and then withdraw from the alliance. When their enemies fired back they would get Concorded. So this way they can't do that.
The way Privateers works is that it allows corps to come in and out of the alliance at will. It basically allows them to go back to their carebearing ways for a week, restock their supplies and whatnot, and then jump back into the alliance and back into the war.
So basically you get spammed with those mails all the time when you have a Privateer wardec.
Also some rather unsavory corporations would operate a scheme where by its members would have no roles in a company. The Corp would wardec, they'd leave and then rejoin later when the found a target or had otherwise slipped through the front lines....

it is a exploit to circumvent the planned 24h prep time for empire wars. i cant think of any other term for it. with the wardec/cancel you get to start shooting instantly wich was not a planned feature but wich is infact a bug that you use over and over again thus a exploit. not a major exploit but nontheless a exploit of a bug.

I think the mods are going to remove those KB links.
But to the OP, I know what I am thinking...I'm thinking you need to learn from your mistakes and maybe the "alliance you don't like" will not get so many kills on you. Thus you wont whine so much on the forums. ---------------------- Boom goes the ship! Squish goes the pilot!

I've removed the OP's original trolling comment, as well as references to it.
In addition, do not discuss exploits. If you think that an individual or organization is exploiting, petition them in-game rather than discussing it here on the forums.
