I have to say, i have held my tongue on this but the moderation on these forums are just horrific and draconian. I feel like people are being censored, and part of some dictorship regime. the mods are just coming out with any excuse to close any thread about any type of thing they dont like. There is basically an excuse rule for anything.
You see also that certain people get anyway with anything, whilst others get closed immediately.
Guys want to post free just go to other forums, even reddit/r/eve , at least then you dont get modded to hell about any silly thing.

and yes you can lock it for ranting, cos i am. ibtl and all that bs |

Threads that follow them are fine, threads that break the rules aren't....and the ISD's are pretty consistent on the whole, as well as refreshingly active.
No system is perfect, but the EVE forums are better moderated than most I've been part of. |

Eve forums moderators are pretty tame compared to other forum sites. Go to any computer hardware forum and see the flame wars they let go on. I've never seen so many personal attacks go unmoderated in threads for Nvidia vs amd. It will make your eyes bleed.
Also reddit is a popularity contest for social justice warriors, so enough said about that. Thank God for no politics in Eve general. |

Counter to this, huge thanks to the ISDs from me for allowing discussions to take part lately.
Moderation has been toned back significantly and it's great that people have much more of an opportunity to express themselves, even if I haven't been here much.
Since Bastorlode took the reins there has been a definite softening in moderation that is much appreciated.

Every single MMORPG forum "community" that I saw or took part in was obnoxious. The only explanation I have for this phenomenon is that all level-headed players are too busy actually playing the game instead of feeding feline feces to the ceiling fan on the forums.
Thanks to the draconian moderation, this forum is rather dead, but at the same time more or less civil.
Reddit can moderate itself with the upvote/downvote system, but it leads to the same malaise that every public subreddit shares: the notorious circlejerk. Reddit is not a neutral ground for sharing opinions, so, technically, you can speak out there, whether you'll be heard depends on the popular opinion.
Finally, if you can speak Russian, go visit eve-ru.com. After you've spent some time in that cesspit of filth and gonorrhea, you'll realize that moderation here is not that bad. |

Hello! I'm just going to follow up ISD Max Trix's post and say that we only lock threads that violate rules egregiously. I for one would love to see more people use the forums. That said, if you DO have an issue with the way moderation is performed, please file a support ticket. Sending us hate mail is pretty inadvisable. Thank you!
