Is there a way to lower the warp and missil launch/impact sounds? Since they seem to high compared to the rest of the sounds. And it can get a little irretating when for example doing missions and wanting to listen to the music and such.
What about adding a slide called something like ingamesounds?(warp, missils, turrets and so on)

Unfortunately there's almost no control over the audio in EVE.
You can change the volume of everything, or you can do what 95% of all EVE players do and just turn the sound off totally. It's not very good sound anyway and it's deeply unstable, you crash and lag a lot less without it.

Out of game, you can run the line out of your computer to a compressor. You can probably pick up a cheapo two channel (stereo) compressor at radio shack or something like that for $20.

In space, no one can hear you scream!
Best is to turn sound off. It also makes it less laggy in missions. --- It have always fallen to a few to sacrifice for the good of many |

BTW, those of us with decent computers play with the sund and music on (actually I play with the sound in 2 clients ans the music from one) and it all runs just fine.
Stories of 95% of people turning off the sund are greatly exagerrated.
But no, you cannot nerf the warp sound. --------------------

I haven't met a person who has been in the game over 3 months who still has sound enabled. Guess you make the one! I would say more than 95% of players of three months or more disable sound due to gameplay issues.

I would say 99% leave the sound on. And oh look, my random statistic is as valid as yours.

I had some trouble early on with EVE. After a little research I found a better driver for my sound card and have had no sound related issues since.
I wish warp sounds could be toned down a bit.
I like playing with the sound on and it causes no problems with my game play, lag or otherwise. The music is not my style, however.
No one on this forum knows for sure what most people do with their sound settings. I also think it is ridiculous that so many posts in the past state emphatically that you must disable sound or you are a "noob" and your game play will suffer. The suggestion to disable sound is a valid suggestion for those who suffer sound related issues. But it is not the word of God, some sound related issues have a solution.

EVE has sound?!
Seriously, I've never known a game be lagged out by its own soundtrack before. I hit the mute button in month one, and haven't looked back
Shame really. The music in EVE IS awesome, if only I could listen to it when I'm doing anything other than high-sec mining. --------

I play with the sound on usually, unless I don't want to lose a fleet battle before it even loads. I too wish there were a control over at least the warp sound, because all that annoying white noise is just unappealing, no matter how "realistic" it may be.

Actually would be nice to be able to nerf the explosions and **** and leave the warning sounds at normal volume. Problem I have is that I turn the volume down so warp and explosions don't blast all over people talking on vent, but then I can't hear if someone is targetting me...

If there were any useful warning sounds, I'd agree.
Don't tell me when I'm going into structure please. I don't care.

99% of all statistics are made up I can run 3 clients with sound on, untill creative drivers cause a BOTD. Switched to kx project drivers but i haven't had the nuts to try it out yet.
