Edited by: Boliknar on 04/03/2007 22:06:30 Let me preface this comment with a few statements. I have nemer been the OMG BOB CHEATZ!! type of person. I figured the people who said this were just silly and and took the game way to seriuosly. I am now gonna present the happenings of this past afternoon. We being the northern coalition (my alliance joined not out of any desire to bring justice to cheaters or any of that... we joined because its politically intelligent for us to do so) had decided to have on hell of a fight with BoB and friends in 3-F we have 135 in gang they have 117 in local with more in a different system. We fleet jump in hella lag ensues...then fight is progressing and all of a sudden announced server crash...This I believe was totally legit as the market had been acting kinda screwy all day.
We get the notice to log back in so we start up. Or at least attempt to...There is a login queue... 1000 people online and non of them are our fleet and believe we were right on it. Fist scout get onlie and announces 215 red in system... WTF thats awfully strange only 1000 people on line and 215-1 is the total number they got logged on compared to the number we got logged on. Even assuming that some of them are using the mega-fast computers of the min there is just logically no way that many people could have "legitmately" logged in before we got a single pilot logged on. The fight goes from even numbers to 2-1 odds against. How does that happen when we are all trying to log in at the same time, supposedly in the systems we logged off in. I would really like to know if anyone has a logical explanation. I dont expect to hear "Well every single one of us even those not in the system when it went down ae just faster that you all." That arguement just doesnt make sense and by laws of averages is specious at best

There is a method of circumventing the login queue that is known to BoB and MC.
It's not an exploit - it's a game "feature" that they've learned in their travels. There is nothing you can do except use that "feature" yourself.

What I don't get is...
How would they be able to do that, unless the majority of bob accounts were marked priority?
And marking 2-3 thousand people as "priority" on the server... yeah, think we would've noticed. ----

they got into the que first... the question you should ask is did they have inside information for when the server-que system would be up so they could get into the que first, or were they just lucky knowledge is power.... guard it well |

And the answer is, they have effective shared out of game-communications that everyone is using (like IRC etc.), so that the first person who notices the queues are open can get everyone else to also start logging in very quickly.

Get used to it. This is just one of the myriad things that need to be overcome to beat BoB. I guarantee every single participant against bob will lose many many ships to node crash -> bob log in faster -> everyone gets slaughtered piecemeal. You need to keep the spirit up, 1/10 the node crash won't be in bobs favor and you make progress.

When the node crashed those "...more in a different system" jumped in. They where first in queue.

Mate the exact same thing used to happen to us every single time the node went down when we were fighting bob and it used to happen ALL the time.
Apparently (cant find the thread that this response was in) it was because we were not willing to be the first to log in in case we died and so we all waited ages to log in whereas our enemies were all brave souls that relogged instantly which is why whenever we logged back in they were holding the gate and we all died
It of course has nothing to do with dev haxx, client streamlining, insider knowledge of game mechanics or anyhing like that and you would be a tin foil hat wearing fool to suggest otherwise...

Here I asked for a logical explanation... Saying "they got into queue before you deal with it" just doesnt cut it. Anyone with at least a modicum of common sense and ability to reason logically will see the errors in that arguement.
Like I said in the beginning I have never been a BoB hater. Now please explain to me how 215 pilots can get logged into a system (where only 135 logged out in) deploy fighters and take up positions on the gate all in the time it takes for an opposing force to get 1 pilot logged on. I unfortunately think that there can only be one logical explanation...
I will let you (if you use the brain whatever creator you believe in has endowed you with) come to your own conclusion.
As the title say...suspicious happenings indeed.

Do you mean having a second client open and logging in the instant the node reboots, so you get in first?
That's not news.
