Edited by: Shaloran Kalior on 05/03/2007 04:51:20 Edited by: Shaloran Kalior on 05/03/2007 04:46:39 Not a report on the BoB/everyone else war, but on our own little war down south.
CVA and NOS entered D-GTMI to siege a IO POS which had been deployed with the aim of siezing sovereignty of the system. They quickly reduced it to reinforced status and left the system. A force of Imperial Order with allies from Ushra'Khan and Repo Industries entered D-GTMI shortly afterwards, and began to scout the surrounding area. U'K left to return home at this point.
At approximately 03:00 the Imperial Order force became aware of a large NOS fleet gathering nearby and retreated to D-GTMI to hold the system.
After approximately 30 minutes, the NOS force, with some CVA support, numbering approximately 35 ships of varying sizes jumped into D-GTMI against the IO force of 28 ships.
At this point IO uncloaked the mothership which had been held in system and began to assault the CVA/NOS force.
After a fight of about 25 minutes, some additional CVA and NOS entered D-GTMI, increasing total CVA and NOS forces to 44 ships, at which point the remaining IO forces retreated to the POS in D-GTMI.
Early reports on our killboard (some mails may not have been posted yet, but will be) show:
Ship Type Kills Losses Battleship 7 6 Battlecruiser 5 3 Cruiser 5 4 Frigate 0 2 AF 1 2 Interceptor 0 1 Recon Ship 1 1
Lag was not too bad for me personally although I heard a few others had worse.
Props to NOS and CVA for a damn fun fight, and a refreshing lack of smack in local. Thanks for sticking around when you saw the Mothership uncloak guys :)
Look forward to seeing you again when that POS comes out of reinforced.

They recruited the pilot - who has had it for a while. It was being used for low-sec piracy in the Amarr Empire and CVA blew up the POSes which sheltered it. The pilot (vowing death and destruction on the CVA) then joined Imperial Order who have been assisting the Ushra'khan terrorists.
We have on several occasion tried to catch it as we wanted the credit for the first Mothership kill - unfortunately MC beat us to it
Indeed last week we reduced it to 50% armor (it was shield tanking) in Misaba (low-sec) and going down fast but unfortunately it was finally able to warp off (despite major bumpage) as we couldn't scramble it and dictor bubbles cant be used in low-sec.
I am sure Davlin enjoyed the experience
With regard to the battlereport above, CVA pilots also reported that it was a fun fight although it was not up to our usual standards of Imperial Order destruction
The losses reported are accurate but they do neglect to mention the numerous mothership fighters which died during the engagement. Here is a quote taken from a the battlereport on the CVA boards:
"One more ship went down, and there weren't any targets at range, so I went to work on Davlin's fighters. One by one the fighters went down. One time a fighter started attacking me and I couldn't get hits on it, so I switched. After a minute it flew away, so I was able to finish it after all. I popped about 10 fighters."
Imperial Order have proved to be a tenacious, generally honourable and smack free opponent who have provided us with some fun fights.
If they would just see reason and cease their NBSI in KBP and low-sec Ammatar/Amarr space and desist with their assistance to the terrorists in Ushra'khan then I am sure CVA could work with them to uphold the law for the benefit of all the citizens of Amarr and Providence.

Yeah, I knew a load of fighters went down, but without knowing exactly how many I didnt want to report numbers. Wanted to keep to facts rather than supposition :)
Do remember Davlin saying he pulled in his fighters and switched to Ogres cos he was losing them too fast though.

If it wouldn't have been for CVA, which stepped in our back during one special OP, we would have been the first one with a Mothership kill (indeed this spoken about above).

Edited by: Aequitas Harbinger on 05/03/2007 16:56:28 If we're going to be talking about truths, Davlin lost less than 5 fighters before switching to Ogres.
And the fight in Misaba was only lost due to lag that suspended our entire support fleet, we were doing quite well despite facing 6+ capital ships.
Davlin was in warp before his armor went, at least on his client. Apparantly the server decided to keep him there as he was taking damage while IN warp. He was not at 50% armor, significantly more than that. While in warp he barely touched armor, as he couldn't turn on his shield rep while "warping".
If CCP figures out why our fleet engagements turn out to be so laggy, we'll have better fights. I'm not speaking of last night, things were generally "okay" (I know Vamp locked up early and ate it, though). But it doesn't help when CVA members (Chong, to point one out) send convos to ships they call primary in an attempt to hit them with lag and kill them easier. Thats a really dirty 'tactic' I'm not sure if its an exploit or not. I expected better from CVA.

Good write up! I missed out on fight, but helped seige the POS w/ mixed BS, BC and support ships. The Mothership at the POS sent Ogres, however they did not cause much damage due to our support ship squad and good targeting.
The local chatter was nominal and in good spirits!
I look foreward to more good spirited fights however I also look foreward to when we can cooperate and look to targets further away!

Aequitas,
Firstly, blaming lag for your defeats is pretty lame when lag is something that effects us all... We have been equally affected by it in each of our engagements - unless of course you want to claim we have a Dev in our ranks that makes it better for us?
Secondly, blaming a CVA member for convo spam in a fight is EVEN MORE lame when we have never ever used such tactics and any member found guilty of doing so would be kicked out of the alliance. I think our track record on these issues speak for themselves. I am not denying that Chong may have convoed one of your members - even I accidentally convo people sometimes when I do a show info - but unless you have evidence of this occuring on a regular basis then please keep your flames and conspiracy theories to your internal forums.
Finally, this was a relatively civil post from both sides until you popped in with your accusations. I know things aren't going well for you in space but there really is no need to start flinging mud around here...
Thank you...

Its the truth, and a valid argument. You call it lame because when we're unaffected by lag and have even numbers, we win. In both cases, we were unable to move/respond while CVA slaughtered us. Your guess is as good as mine, as to why you don't seem to have a problem.

Incorrect. Simple fact is Imperial Order greatly outnumbered us in the Misaba battle where mothership was present...and Imperial Order was defeated. Lag was horrific for all involved. When game conditions become crappy, effective command and control is what makes the difference. Again in a particularly laggy battle in Choonka, it was Imperial Order who saw fit to undock 34 vessels at once into our fleet of 17. This was a particularly one-sided slaughter in our favor...again lag was a disaster, but CVA fleet discipline is second to none.
Lag is not something we can control...it's just something we work to overcome because it is plain a simple a reality of Eve. Instead of flaming on forums and whining about it, we encourage and maintain maximum discipline in our gangs and grind through the slide-show. If you want less lag, try engaging with less than 2 to 1 odds.

Realities are realities. If you're going to be upset that CVA speaks of winning...then work to turn the tables. This is an out-of-character forum, so there's no gloating or expecting of IO to lie down. This was a nicely objective battle report by your pilot and it was responded to by Hardin with certain realities from CVA's perspective.

Attacking Davlin personally is hardly news. We once had a training merc contract based entirely on helping out a noob corp that had been repeatedly griefed by him for a long long time.
Was funny to see his name pop up in Providence politics. Its definitely the same guy.
In any case, sounds like a fun fight. Imperial Order + UK vs NOS + CVA is a nice matchup. Normally I'd bet on the CVA side of that exchange, but it seems to have gone down pretty even. Cheers!

Even numbers - lol - That's not the story shown by our killboard but I will not go into detail on that now...
However, I am sure the EVE community as a whole can see what a reliable source of information you are when you claim that lag doesn't affect the CVA...

Counts as gloating smack?
I merely pointed out that Davlin lost fighters a point that the original poster acknowledges that he did not make.
I also pointed out that we ALMOST killed Davlin a week prior. Hardly gloating - in fact I didn't even mention a victory
When you get a grip on reality maybe we can talk some more...

Just to clarify only 5 CVA members were involved in this fight. It was NOS vs IO with afew CVA joining in that were in the area.
The Imperial Order gang did not show up until after we had put the POS into reinforced mode and moved back home and stood down our gang.

Clearly CVA has superior numbers on the forum!
Sorry Kreul, I thought it was on.
To the CVA: I don't feel like taking the time to respond to all of you individually. However, when every single pilot has no control over their actions, its not a battle. You can claim you have superior command (a fact plainly disproven by that video you posted in Intergalactic Summit, you guys should work on your fire discipline, tbh). We still had excellent command, but zero control because it was more of a photograph than even a slideshow. My screen never left black after undocking, and I was dead.
All our ships were replaced and an admission of server troubles from a GM was logged on both occaisons.
You can continue arguing with me, but as the saying goes, arguing on the internet is like competing in the special olympics. Even if you win, you're still retarded.

Okie dokey, let's take the CVA lies, distortions, and plain fantasies in the order in which they appear :)
Firstly, what you call "low sec piracy" was nothing more than systematic destruction of CVA and CVA lackeys in the areas that I have occupied on and off for the balance of my three year career as a capsuleer.
TBH, Sukanan constellation is infested with bearish lackeys of the CVA variety who couldn't hold that space if their lives depended on it without the full out support of CVA. And certainly more than a few of them, including quite a few members of the Auctorian Smackdicate, have made themselves noteworthy with their smacking in local over that stretch of time.
To say that CVA\CVA lackeys didn't give a person such as myself valid reason to shoot at them is pure fantasy. Hence, what I have done isn't piracy, it's more akin to "dispute resolution." :D
Lastly, CVA removing the two deathstars I had in Ordat and Kershirou respectively, did nothing in terms of removing me or my influence from anywhere. But ahem, the full capabilities of a mothership seem to evade them at times.

You removed 110000 armor from roughly 300k armor. I guess Amarrian math is "special." Hardly 1/2 gentlemen and frankly the entire situation was created by the precise type of extreme client disconnect lag that resulted in Gerontiq's Nyx (IAC) going down a few weeks ago.
Fortunately, I had the presence of mind to continue to activate modules and calmly follow procedures for getting the ship out of harms way. All in all I suppose I should thank CVA for the "learning experience" because in the future I will immediately be able to recognize the brand of lag that leads to such extreme conditions as those that day in Misaba and act early to exit the battle.

I'm 8 weeks into this gig as a momship pilot. Every engagement brings with it lessons to be learned and while the numbers of fighters lost is closer to Aequitas' number, I am very willing to accept fighter losses as part of a "learning curve."
Plus, Hardin, check out the "ogres of doom" :) ....their impact wasn't insignificant in yesterday's engagemnt. I realize they might draw a laugh from a few in regards of my decision to use them under certain circumstances, but I have my reasons and thus far the results have been good. All attackers are welcome to shoot the ogres when you see them whilst my mates target your ships.

At a glance I would say thanks and return the respect(in fact I did to Aralis yesterday with a proper evemail noting the GF had by all), but in this case and in view of your issues at having the proper perspective on things like that which Aequitas reported, I can only hope you see how excuses for that do nothing to increase understanding. Such a shame that you have to derail this thread into a flamefest, but so be it. CVA will continue to do its fighting ingame.
We are in complete control of your space at present and have been for several days. Im sure you will argue this point but those that live in the area know it and your members are starting to ask us why we are at war and how it can be ended. I suggest you put less effort into forum warfare and start undocking from choonka and esescama for a change. Perhaps there would be less lag if you engaged us with even numbers rather than blobbing up to 2 or 3 to 1 before you even think about undocking. You can have the forums I suppose if thats all you are able to do. You are approaching your 400th loss in just two weeks of war. I know your killboard shows only 100 but that is not what is happening ingame. CVA loses are around 70 ships, although your kilboard only shows us to have lost 50.
To those IO that are actually fighting us ingame, you have my respect keep it up. Compared to the forums we get very little smack off you guys ingame.
TO those IO that are just smacking on the forums or camping in egghelende while we control your space, awesom work helping your alliance mates out. Im sure they appreciate it.

The "first blood" for derails in this thread goes to CVA, thanks. I'm sure you will call it "clarification" but that too is expected from those who would label virtually everything "piracy." Euphemisms are your greatest asset and your greatest weakness.
AFAIK, I moved multiple alts around after the battle last night in DG completely unmolested or challenged by CVA. Moving both in Empire and 0,0 all my logistics activities to refit the mothership were completed without incident, as usual.
The sensible person explains both my ability to move unmolested AND your apparent dominance during some periods of the day to playtime differences in each respective alliance.
But we don't get "sensible" much from CVA these days :) Hopefully that will change :)

You know an easy way to tell who is winning this war? Look at the excuses.
Lets spin the IO wheel of excuses together shall we?
We were lagged We were blobbed We did not have the numbers They did not wait till our prime time We lost, but petitioned and got our ships back CVA are devs (yeah we really appreciate how lame you are with that comment, given recent events) We had bad intel We really did not lose, we withdrew!
The list goes on, but it is all excuses. Say whatever you like, be as energized as you want. Use as many lame tactics and excuses as you want. CVA is beating you and will continue to do so without shortcuts and without the need to rationalize every ship loss to save face.

The implication of what I stated was that the alts in question were in corp and hence in the alliace. Reading comp 4tl I guess.
I've never seen a group like CVA grunt around for excuses to everything when the common sense explanation (ie, time zone differences) offers the most direct, objective, answer to the issue at hand.

Because we want to avoid people who don't seem to know what punctuation is :D
At least CVA can be expected to actually help you out when you have an out-of-game problem instead of jumping on the metagame bandwagon and backstabbing you.

It's our home ;-) and you'll have to speak to the leadership of the alliances in question as to why we're not in the Southern War. I suppose though it's because we haven't had any relations with the powers involved and we have to constantly defend/attack UK/IO forces to concentrate on something else
To IO/UK posters on blobbing and lag. Since you've decided to attack us whenever you can and then complain why we continuously bring more ships to the fight than you, I'd suggest you stop fighting two alliances that equal more than double your numbers. Are we expected "even" out the fight so you can feel good or reduce lag? When needed we bring everyone to the fight that are available. The choice is really yours. I'm not smack talking and I've enjoyed the fights we've had, but I wanna know why the Mothership in D-G went to the top of the POS shield and let loose drones then snuck back down behind the shield, I was told it's some sort of game mechanic trick, but I don't care because it didn't work.
In fact, I'm not sure why the mothership was there, it wasn't going to defeat the 40+ man gang we had of BS's, BC's, Command, HAC and cruisers by itself even with fighters which it never employed at the actual seige.
About peak times, I'm not even sure when yours is but I don't complain when it's 1am Pacific and I'm going to bed and there's a UK/IO gang forming in some system somewhere. It's just the way it is.
BTW, I have accidently convo'd people in opposing gangs and I've apologized on a case by case basis. What I can tell you and what you've seen is that the fights are going to be taken to you now, no longer are we sitting back and defending as much <-- not smack talk nor a ego driven statement like we're going to win everything, it's just what's going to happen.
To CVA, I and my alliance has benefits from watching your tactics and hope to work with you in the future more.
BTW, I'm not an Alliance diplomat, but speak from what I see. Thanks!
