Some of these sound like there might be a zombie EVE process in the background causing the patcher some grief, the easiest way to make sure there are no such processes running is to reboot the computer. Please try this and report back.
As for container windows moving around, yes we know about this and we have facepalmed quite hard. There is a fix in the pipes. CCP Gangleri | Senior Tester | EVE Release Management

Does L: happen to be a valid drive letter on your system?
If you are able to reproduce this we'd very much appreciate a screenshot of the "Show Details" view as well. CCP Gangleri | Senior Tester | EVE Release Management

Please try using the generic patcher instead, is basically does the same thing as the repair tool. You can download it here: http://content.eveonline.com//327748/evepremiumpatch327748.exe
Simply run it and select the client you want to update to the 327748 (current TQ) version. CCP Gangleri | Senior Tester | EVE Release Management

With show detailsFYI hitting show details was a pain cause the error occurs almost instantly and hitting retry/cancel/X will just make it pop back up straight way. L: is a valid drive and is the drive where EVE is installed On a side note, the L partition is 3.5TB, something which seems to cause problems with the installer recently. I tried running setup from scratch cause of these patch problems but L: shows as having -1539.-35 GB or something.. has a long been downgraded to int somewhere? heh
Thanks for taking the time to report these, we have a pretty good idea of what is causing your problems and are going to work on fixing them. In the meantime you should be able to use the newer generic patcher instead: http://content.eveonline.com//327748/evepremiumpatch327748.exe CCP Gangleri | Senior Tester | EVE Release Management

Hakaru Ishiwara wrote: I am currently experiencing a problem where showing info on a character renders the info window contents only as far as the avatar's forehead or right below the character's title text. The loading indicator is still spinning after a minute or so.
In fact, this problem is manifesting itself on all attempts to show info on characters regardless of whether I close the show info window or not.
CCP's love of spinning indicators (aka session timers) is strong. Have you filed a bug report? If you send it in via the in-game bug reporting tool, we'll probably see very quickly from the logs what the problem is. |

For example corp chat: After logging in and selecting corp chat tab, everyone in the channel is invisible, though I know, at least I am there or more toons of mine. After resizing the text area with the thin bar dividing the it from the people in chat they appear. I have this problem too. Has been around since before 1.0.3. The thin divider has to be dragged a little before the people actually in the chat channel appear. Not filing a bug report for this one since it appears to be a window-update UI thing and I am 100% confident that the logs will show nothing. This issue will also be fixed in today's downtime |

It places itself at the bottom of the screen, pushing the chat window up. EDIT: There are more ways this show up, I just try to explain this easy way to replicate it.
This!!!!!111!!111!!1 111!!! It is so annoying! I believe this has been fixed internally, I'm not sure if the fix made it in time for today's update or if it will come later. |

Could you try setting graphics to Performance and report back here?
This may be related to an issue that we are currently investigating, the Mac uses more memory (keeps multiple copies of textures) due to the way DirectX to OpenGL conversion works and this sometimes causes crashes similar to the one you describe. Anvil44 wrote:QFT on SillyWaife and all others that are having problems scanning. With only 20 bookmarks in our system (unknown space) scanning is all but impossible. I can't center on the probes, nor can I see properly since the bookmarks hints will NOT go away. I changed settings, logged out, then logged back in, still no difference. This is a serious difficulty for anyone in unknown space. And just plain annoying anywhere else. We are working on this, hope to get it fixed ASAP. |

bugreport 123831: if you have a bunch of locations in a system and you drop a probe, the labels of the locations completely bury the probe.
bugreport 123833: the probes don't have labels anymore. So for instance: to center the view on a probe by clicking on its label is no longer possible.
Sorry about that.
This fallout from a refactoring I did to the system map brackets and hints. I have addressed both of these issues and am pressing to get the fix released tomorrow. The window is narrow but I'm doing my best. |

Well, I just found another variant. I opened the cargo and it actually placed itself above the chat window. OK, so far so good. Then form fleet with my alt. The fleet window opens and pushes BOTH the cargo and the chat window up :( On my alt screen, the fleet window placed itself in between the chat window and the cargo hold. :( Please... I just want things to stay where I place them... I am not able to reproduce this, but if you file an in-game bug report then we have a much better chance of reproducing the issue and figuring out what the problem is. |

This should be fixed now with the latest client update. If you did not get an update then you should try to restart the client. The patch was deployed shortly after downtime rather than during.
Happier probing folks! |
