Some of these sound like there might be a zombie EVE process in the background causing the patcher some grief, the easiest way to make sure there are no such processes running is to reboot the computer. Please try this and report back.
As for container windows moving around, yes we know about this and we have facepalmed quite hard. There is a fix in the pipes. CCP Gangleri | Senior Tester | EVE Release Management

Does L: happen to be a valid drive letter on your system?
If you are able to reproduce this we'd very much appreciate a screenshot of the "Show Details" view as well. CCP Gangleri | Senior Tester | EVE Release Management

Please try using the generic patcher instead, is basically does the same thing as the repair tool. You can download it here: http://content.eveonline.com//327748/evepremiumpatch327748.exe
Simply run it and select the client you want to update to the 327748 (current TQ) version. CCP Gangleri | Senior Tester | EVE Release Management

With show detailsFYI hitting show details was a pain cause the error occurs almost instantly and hitting retry/cancel/X will just make it pop back up straight way. L: is a valid drive and is the drive where EVE is installed On a side note, the L partition is 3.5TB, something which seems to cause problems with the installer recently. I tried running setup from scratch cause of these patch problems but L: shows as having -1539.-35 GB or something.. has a long been downgraded to int somewhere? heh
Thanks for taking the time to report these, we have a pretty good idea of what is causing your problems and are going to work on fixing them. In the meantime you should be able to use the newer generic patcher instead: http://content.eveonline.com//327748/evepremiumpatch327748.exe CCP Gangleri | Senior Tester | EVE Release Management

Could you try setting graphics to Performance and report back here?
This may be related to an issue that we are currently investigating, the Mac uses more memory (keeps multiple copies of textures) due to the way DirectX to OpenGL conversion works and this sometimes causes crashes similar to the one you describe.
