An interesting one.

Was 'in the Blue Corner' deployed a dozen or so dreadnoughts to Detorid and alongside Goon/TCF was involved in taking down dozens of LV POS's, the titan 'abortion' as well as the capture of 77S, siege's in DG- and surrounds. With SMASH having seen the destruction of a few carriers, and that wonderful self distructing phoenix.

Meanwhile with SMASH Soveringnty a few days away from claiming 77S, RA struck a deal to buy Miz Cenuij's Nyx. Now, Miz was a new member to SMASH and a great amount of heat was raised internally about how all he did was camp 0.4 in his Nyx, and that, SMASH is about 0.0, and generally what the hell was he still doing in SMASH. Anyway. UAxDEATH (RA anyone?) was told in no uncertain terms, that Miz wasn't to be trusted and that any deal for the Nyx should go through SMASH leadership directly (infact, UAxDeath suggested this !).

Of course for some reason, he ignored his own suggestion, and paid Miz 10bn. Miz left the alliance and podded him when he went to trade the Nyx.

Anyone see who is at fault here?

Of course. SMASH must be.

So anyway, with threats of RA dropping their dreads ontop of SMASH's (which were busy assisting Goonswarm in Detorid), Goon helped SMASH withdraw safely before they got set neutral by RA. (and so, any of the coalition SMASH were not alligned directly with). LV retook 77S briefly a day or so later.

Long time allies who never showed up when SMASH need them, have taken to raiding SMASH space 3-4 times a day... Infact, some of their members go nowhere else, waiting till their cov ops finds a target before logging in striking, then logging out a few jumps away. SMASH had agreed, even though explicitly not responsible, to give RA 10bn isk, as they felt some 'small' responsibility because Miz was a SMASH member, even if RA were explicitly informed he couldn't be trusted. Many suspect that RA willingly lost the 10bn, to avoid having SMASH take 77S, as promised to them by Goonswarm.

As the RA raids continue, any support this idea had is fading quickly.

So the answer to where SMASH is, is not surrendered, not withdrawn. Just forced out by those with egos bigger than brains.
