Unfortunatley for Verone, i do have to disagree with him on crashing game events. although i'll try my best to actually make a constructive argument.
Crashing events is perfectly fine, it allows for the roleplay side of things to be as dynamic as people expect from this game when they join. outcomes shouldn't be decided before the event has began, but moreso they should be "expected". For instance, in my section of low sec there are quite a few events in which an event corporation escorts a bestower through low sec and theres usually a group of people following it, RPing away and whatnot. now, im a pirate, and i dont personally care for roleplaying or roleplayers, and i choose to attack the event corporation and its cargo. I succeed in my task, i get a damn good fight out of it. When everyone goes home the story was that "while we were escorting the refugees, we were ambushed by a fleet of scoundrel pirates and the convoy was destroyed". It makes for a good event, and a good time. i didnt do it for the RP, i did it for the usual thrill of PVP, maybe a killmail or two and the possible contents of the bestower (like all real pirates) but everyone gets what they want out of it.
However, there is a line. Theres a difference between crashing an event and taking two battleships into a player-organised frigate tournament and then claiming your "awesomeness" for it. I personally dont think you did it for the killmails, the thrill of PVP (pitting battleships against frigates pretty much proves this one) nor do i think you did it out of sheer grief, but simply so you could make the forum post you have done bragging about your "achievments". maybe you're looking for respect from pirates? you wont get it from me. and the chances are you wont get it from any other respected pirates either.
I'm not saying i wouldnt have attacked the event, because i would have. but i most definatley would have done it for the thrill of PVP and taken in a ship or two that wouldve made it a challenge. probably a single assault frigate. and i most definatley wouldn't have posted my "awesomeness" for doing it.
