After a fight today, I went back to station to repair, now as I scrolled over my armor I noticed something odd....
-57 Armor
Somehow my enemies had gotten me down to.... -57 armor... wow......

that happened once to me when i was 2 months old in a caracalin my first war, i had -13 structure and nothing else, i was flying dust by then :) ( i still had the ship)

i dont think its taking ur skills into account, hence the negative ;p
one time i did that by accident had to go get some bulkheads to be able to fly home :|

For negative armor problems, add/remove a plate from ship, until problem is solved.
For hull, add/remove bulkhead or nanofiber (might not work, never had negative hull personally).

There are a number of ways this can happen, first and easiest is that you were in a gang and now are in a position where you do not benefit from the gang skill.
If you are in a station for example a gang skill will not boost your armour even if the person convaying the skill is in the same station.
Another way this could have happened is that you have refitted the ship in such a way that it has lowered your armour.
On the upside you can actually be sitting in a ship that is for all intents and purpouses dead (im not certain but I think you can get neg structure in a station), on the downside you will not be allowed to undock untill you have managed to get your armour back to positive values (0 here counts as positive).
My sugestion would be to repair the ship enough to get to positive or if the fit armour plates, or if you cant repair fit armour plates.
Once you have positive armour again you can undock and use repairers as normal.

you cannot even undock with 0 armor - it has to be over a certain percentage (%) if I remember correctly...

I recall once when i was in a battle i was try to warp off while going down in my punisher. I had my armor repper going full blast, it some hits wouldn't damage my armor, but rather seep into hull damage. I warped out with 0% hull and 6% armor

Seen this a few times, not sure about adding modules as suggested above, but relogging always sets it back to 0 and you can then undock to repair.

It used to be that when this happened your ship became invulnerable. I remember about 40 of us firing at a Vigil with negative armor for a good 5 minutes back in the CA/SA war.
Anyone remember?

Speaking of negative armor, me and a corpie were messing around one night to see what we could do after finding something really interesting.
Note: I know it's kinda redundant blocking the corp ticker, but it's also not "me" who's doing the shooting.
We wound up with this...
And the poor rifter died not long after when we were testing how long it'd live, the last hit into shields wrecked for a massive amount and instapopped it.

Yes either gang bonuses or when you are fighting your take damage with a plate on. When you go back to station and take the plate off, viola! Negative armour, happens all the time. -Steve

Lag also those this, it happened to me once. I was attacked by a mother ship got kill mail and all. Client froze I logged out for the night angry at loosing the ship.
Get back on next day people tell me I was crazy to stay at a gate in 0.0 for the whole night.  One even said after locking me that I had a nice ghost ship. It had negative armor and negative hull and was invulnerable.
Then I see my ship, where I expected a pod and look at the armor and hull both negative at -1000 something and the module declared destroyed are gone of course . I have a Kill mail and the insurance as been paid back  .
I fly the ghost ship to the nearest POS where I slap in Armor and Hull repper. Next thing I know I get cough in a camp while strolling back to safe space  . Bye bye ghost ship...

Hehe, well first a few things to clear up, gang bonuses were NOT active, at all, during the fight or after, as I stated. And I first noticed the - armor in space so it wasnt because I docked. I didnt think of taking a screeny then when I wanted to undock to take a screeny it wouldnt let me.  Also, I had no armor plating on, only a medium shield extender.
Anyway, so I logged on today and my armor was back up to 0 so I could undock

what about a rig on your ship?
i know for a fact that when i activate my ship 2 of my guns are offline because he doesn't calculate the rig bonusses for grid when i activate my ship.
I then have to manually activate my guns.
Perhaps this happends to your armor as well?

It sometimes happens if you've had armor plates equiped and you have taken alot of damage and then dock before repairing it. You will notice a negative value if you unequip your plates.

No rigs either, I think lag was the cause, but either way it doesnt matter, just thought it was odd.
