There's a lot of that kind of "it could possibly happen so therefore we'll just act as if it did" going around these days.
Bring security with you, join a player corp, simply don't jettison till the guy gets bored and goes away, move belts. There's a ton of things you can do to prevent situations like what might have happened.
hehe, good point, though as I mentioned I'm really getting into the theoretical nature of it, and this was a quick off-the-cuff post about it.
Tonight, if our friend is around, there will be a more prepared and in-depth investigation into the mechanics of this. :)

Criminal flagging is really bad.
There are many P U S S I E S our there who flip a can in a Warp Stabbed Frigate. For those of you whow don't know what can flipping is let me tell you.
Basically you approach a miner's jettisoned can in a frigate. You create your own jet can and then move the ore to that can. This thief then docks.
Another alt comes along in an Indy and takes the jet can away.
There's nothing we can do about the alt... BUT, for the Criminally Flagged, at least we can kill em for a little satisfaction (although the Warp Stabs really show how much of a coward this person is).
This can flipping/alt hauling is the most cowardly tactic I've seen to date.

Am I right in thinking that a ore thief would be flagged to your whole corp? Then why not bring out a battleship or 2 and KILL him, gee |

We've killed them. But when they see a large fleet, they don't bother stealing.

I constantly have 7-10 cans floating in space and have never been robbed by an ore thief. Sure, it may be luck, but itÆs also because of common sense. And if I do get robbed, so be it. IÆll mine again in a different system and let the cycle continue. ItÆs also a good idea to keep a PvP ship in the system your mining in for those rare occasions you do get robbed.
Thx for the info. Will go to my locater agent and ask him to find you
By all means, I would love to kill you. Seriously though, the risk of being robbed doesn't outweigh the advantages of jet-can mining. Mining into an anchored can is a complete waste of time and energy. Flying a Covetor, youÆll fill the can in less than 6mins. ItÆs just not practical.
