For the purposes of increasing supply, I wondered if people would post up what their favorite rig is and why, and at the other end of the scale, which ones are borked or useless ?

4 rigs which I use alot in order of preference.
Cap Control Circuit - Amarr ships are very cap hungry
Anciliary Current Router - Always need more grid especially when fitting tachyons
Algid Energy Administrations Unit - Sometimes run into CPU problems especially on the Geddon
Auxiliary Nano Pump - Extra armour repair amount is really useful when tanking in missions and complexes

Considering the amount of mission running Drakes out there, or other passive ships for that matter, I would imagine the Core Defence Field Purger I and the Core Defence Field Extender I is a popular choice, and they are my favourite rigs, but for pvp rather than mission running.

Before rigs, my Abaddon was useless. Firing 8 x megabeams with ultraVs ran the cap dry, let alone with multifreqs. And it couldn't really tank worth a damn. Then I stuck 3 x CCCs in it and it became a monster. I still think the Apoc tanks better, but by a wafer thin margin now and it has far less dps.
CCCs are so useful, there's no situation where more cap isn't a good thing except passive tanks, and there aren't so many ships that can fit them properly.
Useless ones include that one that reduces the cap need of shield boosters, and the ones that increase shield recharge rate. I have one of each in my Cerb and if they weren't so expensive i'd rip them out and put something else in. They make no difference at all. ---

My favorite rig is without a doubt... the 3p33n enlargement rig. "Why?", you ask. Because it has proven extremely helpfull in getting attraction from the oposite 3s3x. -------------------------------------- ---"What's in your wallet?"--- "There are two kinds of respect, fear and admiration.... Er, try telling that to any mission-running Drake pilot.
I'd say the Capacitor Control Circuits are the best rigs overall, but the Core Defence Field Purgers make missions even more of a joke than they already were.

think my most used one is the powergrid one :)
got 2 on my deimos (what gets me a very ncie solo/gang setup :D)
got one damage and one pg one on my astarte for that sick pwnage
also have 2x speed rigs on my ranis.
on my raven i have 2x cap regen and the one that increases the shield booster rof :P (dunno.. most people woun't use it but i find it very useful :))
planning on using the rep amount rigs soon...

Edited by: James Lyrus on 07/03/2007 18:29:06 Core defence shield purges make mission running drakes cheat ships. 150pts of passive recharge with a shield resist bonus is just sick.
Personally though, I like the ancillary power controls. They let me fit a full rack of launchers, some noses and an injector on a raven.
I also like the 'fast scanning' ones, and the 'faster cap recharge' ones. The latter, there's no drawback to, and almost any ship can use more cap.

Powergrid rigs on certain ships are seriously good and can transform ur ship into a monster allowing u to gank and tank so they are probably my favourite.
closely following by the rep amount rigs. faction repper on an astarte, eos, hyperion etc with rep bonus's plus 2-3 rep amount rigs = secks

my favorites are powergrid, semiconductor memory cell(cap amount; better in pvp), cap control circut, and ab/mwd speed boost rigs. not necessarily in that order.

Projectile Ambit something-or-other. 15%/20% Falloff is awesome, and the T2 variants are suprisingly cheap to make as well.

I would LOVE to see a nasty downside to the CCC rigs. One of the most overused rigs, and it has no downside?
There is absolutly no downside to one of these rigs, and there really should be.
That being said, I like the Auxiliary Nano Pumps. I'm a big fan of solidly tanking my ships, and this makes you choose between mobility and firepower and tanking and defense. ------------------- My opinions (ie, all of my posting here) are not my corporations. Nor should it be taken as such. |

I'm curious to know if those people who are voting in T2 Rigs actually have them on thier ship.
The Gravity Capacitor Upgrade I is a very useful rig. Using 2 of them on a CovOps Frigate is generally better than using 1 T2 GCU. If you really wanted to fit some other type of rig on your CovOps I suppose it'd be nice to use the T2 variant in order to keep 100 Calibration available, but I'm not quite sure what that would be to justify the added cost.

Most used by me : CDFPurgers to the max on Drake, Myrmidon.
Most liked : SMC for PvP, CCC for PvE on any of the BSs I'll ever fly Useful : GCC, for (future) exploration covops Other marginally useful ones : ACR (the powergrid one), missile precision and missile velocity ones Nerfable in the future: PIVent (bye bye nanoistabmwdshipofdoom?)
Rest are useless at current prices, because there's no good reason to use'em instead of the CCC/SMC on battleships, and they're too expensive to fit on anything other smaller than a battlecruiser that's not a T2 ship (and even then, only on the expensive ones). _ MySkills | Module/Rig stacknerfing explained |

Useless for you, perhaps. Why in the world would you put one rig meant for active shield tanking and one for passive in the same ship? I use 3 Purgers in my Drakes (although extenders might have been better) and they are quite nice.
For haulers, I use Low friction nozzle joints to increase agility/time to warp, except in the iteron 5 where I use cargohold optimizations and then have the option of fitting istabs or expanders in the lows.

I love the versatility and ability for godly cap regen with triple CCCs, plus no downside means you can't go wrong.
