I have a couple accounts and have done my best to skill plan my pilot specializations. But, just as in life, mistakes are sometimes made. As a part of that I have purchased Skill Books from the Marked and injected them into one of my characters for later training. In the process, I have made a few adjustments to my training plans and now have a couple of skill books that are now essentially "lost ISK" because I now have no intention of training the skill.
So my question / proposal is this:
For skills that have been injected, but not trained, would it not make sense to be able to retrieve these skill books for use on another pilot or resale?
Possible solution:
- Create the ability to drag an untrained skill from Skills tab on Character Sheet and into the Item Hanger.
- Create a 'right click' option to Remove Untrained Skill Book.
- Add a small fee of 10% of average Market Value to the process.
IMO this is something that would be helpful to a lot of pilots as there is no telling how much ISK untrained Skill Books have consumed. Just looking for a simple Skill Book Return Policy here. |

-1, Nope. ISK sinks are there for a reason. With the invention of skill extractors, ANYONE can have 0 SP, 'never trained' skills. And it may not seem like a lot but once you factor in the cost of capital skillbooks, that kind of isk flying around can be dangerous.

but not how much is in untrained skills as far as I'm aware. so not technically a correct answer given the statement.
I do however agree that we need as many isk sinks as possible. Also Eve is about living with your mistakes, Isk is easy to come by just take the hit and move on.
If the OP said is there away to delete the skill book and get nothing back I would +1. Makes you character sheet look all nice and clean and the economy is not affected (maybe even future sink sink if yo buy it again). |

Being able to delete an unused skill book would also be suitable fix. One would think that with the release of skill extractors CCP would have factored that in to the equation.
After all, a clean skill sheet is a happy skill sheet.

Could this end up being a risk-free way of transporting high-value skillbooks?
Purchase inject move to different market extract sell.

What would you classify as an untrained skills then? The metric Im referring to is on the list of isk sinks. The isk given directly to the NPCs for the skillbooks.
Its a lot. So yes, having that isk come back defeats the point. The only skillbook isk that wouldn't come from that sink is the starting skills, and those are such low value its not worth factoring them in. (and not a valid point for skillbook refunds)

Whats that, 12 trillion isk for skillbooks? Thats a significant figure. |
