Im still doing my homework on all this and trying to figure out a method that will work best for me. Could someone explain the SSH server and Socks5 approach or point us in the right direction if we wanted to try this. |

Did my homework.
Here are some links to info on installing and using an SSH server on your windows PC.

If you dont want to use a full Cygwin installation.

So now we have the SSH server up on the home PC. How the Heck do we use it....
Since Im a fan of USB drives and portable app. here is what im going to try.

I'm trying to run EVE off of a flash drive and I'm having problems...
Steps taken:
- Install latest version of EVE on laptop (ran the game once)
- Copy EVE folder to flash drive
- Uninstall the game from the laptop
- Run the EVE application from the EVE folder
- Error - "The application failed to initialize properly (0x0000005)...)
I had gotten a different error once before about corrupted installation, but this is all I get now. What am I doing wrong if its so simple?

Hi, talk about raising the dead...
I'm looking to install Eve on a flashdrive. The sys req says you need 6gb space, but people on this thread have said as low as 1.5gb. I have two questions, both pertaining to changes made to Eve since the majority of these posts...
1) Did the Eve system req's go up for HD space?
2) Didn't they change where Eve writes logs to My Documents, therefore taking care of a great deal of the write problems of flashdrives?

EVE writes a lot of log files so check the size of your logs and cache folders. Also, auto-patcher leaves a copy of all downloaded patches in the EVE folder.

Run the EVE.exe with the "/end /LUA:OFF" parameters (excluding quotes) and it's case sensitive. However, this only works for some folders, there's a more permanent work around here until CCP respond to user requests to give us the option to put stuff back to the old ways (hint Garthagk).
