Gadget it hit on the head as did Jenn aSide's second paragraph.
If it feels like a job its because it is. All human tasks if done enough will elicit some sort of grind/repetitive style. Honestly my boxing coach said the same thing about boxing too and funny enough it came to pass even fighting someone else in a ring. Eventually its like going to work because youve done it so many times.
Some of us in our lives get to find jobs we love. Jobs we literally DONT need a vacation from. This is rare in life as it is in a game. Honestly in Eve I have found something I can literally do 7 days a week for 12 or more hours a day and still NOT find it boring, even though parts of it can get very "ugh" at times. Years ago when ET was young I used to do a week of something and then another week of something else and so on until I came back to the first thing again. This gave me enough time doing something newish that I didnt get bored fast grinding the same content. Then I found making goals for myself and havent looked back. The only time Eve felt dull was when the bucket list and goals to accomplish really ran dry for my particular play style. I do literally a bit of everything, or have in the past, and until most of the new Eve started rolling in I was hardpressed to find truly new things to do.
People can help this feeling a lot as well as they can in any normal work environment. Toxic people or people you hate being around burn you out faster than people you like. I personally find its people I have to take the break from and that burn me out the fastest. This is coming from a guy that has literally gone 6 weeks at stretches out in the wilderness never seeing/talking to/interacting another person. So I would say Im 'socially' different than most people. Finding "YOUR" people will help tide yourself through those boring breaks.
And if Eve isnt for you well so be it. People, even really successful people, leave jobs for new ones all the time to start over fresh somewhere else. Best of luck to you.
Have you heard anything I've said?
You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?
That's right.
Had to end sometime.

Probably the biggest complaint I have is no centralized event coordination site. Or something that let's anyone in the game set a date for an event and then that gets added to the site for everyone to see. If I could just go there and read about what is going on and where that would be pretty cool. I mean the meat of this game is people planning things and then doing those things right?
EVE has two centralized event coordination mechanisms. The 1st is the calendar, which people can use to set dates that everoyne in a corp gets. The other is called "YOU". What's stopping you from getting some folks together and doing something. Hell you can even make up some kind of story to go with it. No, Jenn I think hes actually got a decent idea tbh. A community calendar entry that anyone can check or uncheck the box for much like the CCP events. Ironically it would be a very easy way to get NPSI fun roam or other fleets/people together ad hoc without mailing lists and more visually for everyone, not limited to just corporation or alliance levels tbh. It would also be a nice reminder for those that look and use the calendar of player run events.
