CRT > LCD
In the rare cases where LCD > CRT, that LCD costs about 5 times as much as a comparable CRT.
Some of us don't have that kind of desktop real estate :)

dual 19'' widescreen (although ones going back to be replaced) 1440x990 I'd love a slightly windowed option for widescreen tbh, like 1440x900/890 so I can see the task bar

Dual 20" widescreens (Viewsonic VX2025wm), both being 1680x1050. Gives me a screen resolution of 3360x1050.
Play EVE with me and my alt at 1600x900 in windowed mode, one on each screen.

On my (currently borked) Alienware laptop, it's 1920 X 1200 (19" I think), but right now, I'm lumbered with the 1024 X 768 14"er. And a reduced framerate.

Since EVE launch, I've gone from 15" CRT to a 30" LCD stopping at 17" CRT and 17" LCD along the way.
The 30" runs at 2560x1600 and takes some getting used to. But, EVE really shines at the high rez's. I run an alt on the old PC w/ 17" and wonder how I managed.

Well....I use a 22" Widescreen @ 1440 by 900 @ 75Hz
And I have my Dell XPS 17" Widescreen laptop which I use when I'm out and about or at Uni, usually have it as high as EVE lets me, 1680 by 1050.

If you go into your options menu, there's a difficulty slider. Put that all the way over to the easiest setting and you'll be fine. |

You guys with 2 PCs should look into a small tool called Multiplicity. It allows you to use one keyboard/mouse to control the 2 PCs, you just move the mouse across the border of your screen and you control the other PC.
That tool is not free so there are open source alternative, like Synergy, look it up on Sourceforge.

My monitors may be old (and my wallpaper questionable ) but my calculator pwns.

First off, Lion King is basically a big kitten with anger issues.
They are KRK RP6s, limited edition white ones that for some reason cost less than the normal ones. They would be on stands a good distance away from me, but my room at university is teeny. ---

I have a 1024x768 laptop. And I had a 21 inch (? or 22?) CRT running 1600x1200 for home use (I run full screen generally). It died though... so I got a 24 inch (1920x1200) LCD.
I sometimes run EVE windowed in the LCD.

70 watts apiece say rawr. Especially as they are about 5 inches from my head. When i'm sitting on my bed watching South Park or something I plug my bass amp in to the mixer and filter out all the high frequencies = instant woofer! Sounds a touch scratchy solo but as long as it sticks to low Hz you can't tell. ---
