I would love a 30" widescreen, but this works. It's quite nice. Plus, I don't think they make 30" widescreen lcds with low latency.

Pwnage If you look closely you'll see the laptop just above the desktop, my alt's mouse next to my main's (you can play Eve without a keyboard once you get logged in), that my entire desktop is in fact black glass, and I still have the wallpaper from when I was a kid. \o/

I have 2 19" LCDs that default to 1600x1200, but it gets chuggy when I run two clients at high resolutions, so I run them both windowed at 1024x768. Means I can open up IE, iTunes or whatever over one of them too, which is convenient. ---

The 30" runs at 2560x1600 and takes some getting used to. But, EVE really shines at the high rez's. I run an alt on the old PC w/ 17" and wonder how I managed.

You guys with 2 PCs should look into a small tool called Multiplicity. It allows you to use one keyboard/mouse to control the 2 PCs, you just move the mouse across the border of your screen and you control the other PC.
That tool is not free so there are open source alternative, like Synergy, look it up on Sourceforge.

70 watts apiece say rawr. Especially as they are about 5 inches from my head. When i'm sitting on my bed watching South Park or something I plug my bass amp in to the mixer and filter out all the high frequencies = instant woofer! Sounds a touch scratchy solo but as long as it sticks to low Hz you can't tell. ---

Yeah I would have liked higher res LCD's but I couldn't find any in any larger res or format that had both the excellent colour accuracy, spatial uniformity and good latency that the VP930's had - being a photographer and a gamer at the same time is tricky sometimes
Still... *cough*... wallpaper!!11

Yeah I play WoW and EVE, they're both great, in different ways - WoW's fine until the zawnathon that they call "endgame"
And I'm very used to using 2 mice - it's the only way to do it with 2 seperate computers. I 2-boxed DaoC, I 2-box WoW, I 2-box EVE.
I do sometimes get confused though and try and move the mouse cursor from the right-hand screen onto the left-hand one...

If you go into your options menu, there's a difficulty slider. Put that all the way over to the easiest setting and you'll be fine. |

My 3 monitors + Matrox triplehead2go + PC > $2200 in total parts so far, and now that it is all finished, I need a new case I think too, so add another $150 or so. Eve is by far and large the most expensive game I have played, because I would never have gone with triple monitors if it hadn't been for Eve @ 3840x1600 resolution. How to pwn

Just to be awkward I got a 20.1 inch LCD :-)
It's a Samsung Syncmaster... something. D20 or something. I'm at work now.
Anywhoo, I tend to play in 1024x768 windowed with either 1 or 2 clients running, whilst doing things like watching movies, surfing the net or browsing forums :-)
When I want to fraps, I tend to do it in 1280x720 windowed at 32bit and all that nonsense turned on.

Same here but 24" and 1900x1200. I'll play in 1600x1080 in window or just window the 1900 and drag the top bar all the way up. FPS seems the same windowed or not and makes it easy to search the web.

CRT > LCD
In the rare cases where LCD > CRT, that LCD costs about 5 times as much as a comparable CRT.
Some of us don't have that kind of desktop real estate :)
Main 1680x1050 Alt 1280x1024
Both windowed mode and maxed using Eve Launcher.

This should be in OOP.

Also i use 19" LCD 1280x1024 windowed mode. I use EVE Launcher to place window in the middle so its like fullscreen, but with better tabbing.

Neat!
I will have to drag out the old sgi box to see if their claims are true.
Doesn't work well with Mac so the possibility exists it won't work with fbsd. :(
For gaming it would be cool though.
