Edited by: Emylissan on 12/03/2007 18:09:01 So far i learned that i can browse through the items in the market, go to details and than place a buy offer, but how can i do that when the items isnt for sale at all? I mean for example a better mining upgrade, so far there are only one for turrets and one for stripminers.
I hope there are better mining upgrades but someone has to produce them or not? Even the blueprints offer is very small. For mining equipment.
Maybe there are only very little items for mining in the game, sadly when i see how much turretstypes are available. Small, medium, big, hybrid, lasers, cannons. And each group has several different items in it.
When i than look at the miner folder...alot of weak turrets but the best i can use atm is the miner II wich i could already use the first week of playing. The first and last way to improve there seems to come a month later when i can use mining barges and stripminers.
Maybe i didnt notice it and there is more somewhere, somehow. Can someone brighten my mind please ?:)
Thanks in advance

In the market interface, go to Details on the item you want, then click on the Place Buy Order button.
Set the price, duration and range as you want.

In the lower LEFT corner of the market interface there should be a checkbox that says "Show only available items." If you uncheck this, it will show "all items", meaning it will show all items in the EVE database that the devs have added to the game, even if none are for sale.
As far as the mining upgrades, I think only the two that you have mentioned are possible. Some items are sort of unique in their class, and they don't have the many variations that you normally see (tech 1, named variations, tech 2, etc.).
In any case, if you uncheck that box, and what you're looking for still doesn't appear, then it's not in the game.

Not really. Mining is a extremely straight foward skill set. For mining it is all about increasing your output per cycle and ice mining is all about decreasing cycle time since only the Mackinaw effects ice mining.
Guns on the other hand and unique for the most part per race. Also for guns you have to worry about range alot; mining is easy, you just chug until your close enough to that roid, and the roid never moves. Cap is easy because cap is pretty much straight foward if you can fit on your ship or not. Mining lasers never miss and always mine the same amount. 95% of your investment of skills goes into barges witch all use skills to up mining anyhow.
There is exception when it comes to deep core mining, but very few people do it and good luck finding a belt of stuff to deep core mine even in 0.0.
Basically for mining you get your miners for everything and your strip miners for your barges. Tech II miners are a must but strip miner IIs use crystals and that gets complicated. Mining can either be very straight foward or very in depth. However, most of your bonuses come from skills that either help you mine or refine and those skills also alow you to use bigger stuff.

The only thing I could see added to the mining lasers would be a faction miner (Ore).

Look up the price of a hulk...
Also realize there are a ton of types of mining crystals and stuff.. its honestly a more complex mining system than any MMOG I ever played...

Yes i saw the mining crystals, sadly that they can only be used with the modulated strip miner. The only modulated mining laser is a deep core device, so only useable for mercoxit mining.

Edited by: Headless Giraffe on 13/03/2007 08:07:23 MDCM II can be used with crystals to mine any ore from Veldspar through to Mercoxit. They are the best mining lasers you can get for normal (i.e. non-barge) ships.
They are best mounted on a battleship that is also set up to tank spawns (my personal preference is the Geddon as you can switch between 5x mining drone and 3x Ogre, 2x Hammerhead to rat whilst you mine). Alternatively the Harbinger can also fit 7x MDCM II and run a mining foreman link at the same time, plus 5x mining drone. You don't *HAVE* to go down the barge route to be an effective miner. At least I didn't.
