Which of the big War participants have you got dec'd? BoB? RA? Goons? D2? Who else? Not that its a big question, just that I'm curious --------

I get intel on hauler movements for alot of corps, some inloved in the war directry and some indirectly. I can't believe when the war dec mechanic was conceived it was "intended" that an alliance would exist in empire to perpetually wardec multiple entities for no actual reason other than to have CounterStrike style pick up 'n' play eve time!! However, it's not so much what was "intended" as how they (CCP) view what is happening, now that it IS happening and how it affects their business - if something is important enough, CCP WILL play ball. For example - it was never "intended" when the bookmarking feature was implemented that the player base would invent the "insta" - yet it happened, and due to the servers groaning under the strain and the inevitable player backlash if the insta was removed, warp to 0 was implemented. This is player invention in action. My point is that just because an entity like the privateers wasn't "intended" doesn't automatically mean it is unacceptable now that it exists. I've lost ships to these guys, but I've ganked a load as well - I'm in an alliance that will inevitably be amongst those decced on Thursday, of course I'd rather be able to set a hauler on autpilot and go have a cup of tea than actually fly my ship, but does any of this mean they don't have the right to exist and play the game how they want? I think the only time Privateers' shenanigans may have a stop put to them is if it starts making people cancel subs en-masse, and hit CCP in the wallet. For my view, they are a pain in the arse when you don't want them around, but when I feel like some pew-pew they have it on tap - I won't be cancelling my sub anytime soon! Every single killboard I have EVER seen is heavily skewed in favor of the people who maintain it, simply because it requires player honesty and interaction to function. There is no such thing as accurate kill "statistics" in Eve, no matter how much people claim. In order for this to occur CCP themselves would have to run their own kill statistics and make it publically available. As for the Privateer alliance... imo nothing more than a bunch of pvp enthusiasts backed by rich isk-buyers/industrialists who have successfully found a way around Concord.

Seleene once posted about the seriousness of creating an alliance and what a big moment it was and how it is theese days, well the same could be said about war declaration. It went from something that was not taken lightly to "what?!? were not at war today?!?, must be a server error!!" In times before Privateers a war dec meant buisness. Some people had enough/wanted to kill you because of some slight or political problems. Today Wardeccing is an "inconvenient" mechanic to bypass to be allowed to lay waste to as much as possible. "War has been declared" doesnt mean squat today. Chances are youre allready decced by Privateers or soon will be and since 0.0 war dec doesnt mean anything well nothing changes for the average pilot where as in older days war dec meant interruption of normal logistics ect. It has simply taken the menace out of the whole function. Maybe it still means something between big alliances vs each other, but thats about the extent of it. I must admit I hope CCP scales cost drastically above a certain amount of war decs pr entity. That said since it IS within game mechanics and Privateers seem to thrive on the said lamentations, here is a salute to you and looking forward to thursday, and may you all suffer a horrible end. Yay, a razor person who makes a very good point and doesn't flame like hell! :D From now on you are my favorite RAZOR alliance member (no pun intended). <3 And I am quite happy that people are starting to understand the way privateer alliance works, and why individual members of it should be treated as individuals rather than to referring to them as "the alliance". About the killboard statistics. I do keep a very very accurate track on my corp's killboard data.
