Sorted Privateers Privateer Alliance	Posted - 2007.03.13 00:32:00 - [1] This is an Offical PRIVATEER ALLIANCE ANNOUNCMENT ... before I begin let me just put on the Acme Flame Proof Suit.... /me puts on the afforementiond suit Ok, some rumors have been circualting about a massive War Deccing about to be started by Privateer Alliance. I would like to say that these rumours are entirely founded. We are having a little party and calling it Pew-Pew-Palooza, catchy huh...? We currently have an estimated 85 Wars, some contracts from individuals, some from allainces against their eneimies, some against loot theives, some against juicy Industrial Targats, some agasint us by Mercs. A target is just that to me tho, just a target...the more the better. On Thursday the 15th of March 07 we will be adding another estimated 40+ wars to this total. This is the bear mimimum number of extra wars which will be started that day. We (the pew pew loving people of Priavteer Alliance) hope to see that figure be more like 70. Reason? Well theres 3 main reasons. 1)I traveled to some back water empire system last week to collect a mod, and on the way there I passed through 2 systems where I had no little Red Stars in local....... TWO! WTF?!!! ok,, one system was totaly deserted, but the other one, well... thats just not good, no red stars in local-- I paniced & strated hyperventalating, I thought I had been booted from PRIVS for a moment! 2)Its just been 1/4 birthday and having a late party, We are going to celerbrate our creation 4 times a year, - again at christmas, easter, any public holidays, birthdays (even of estranged aunts & pet fish), funerals, bhamitsfas...you get the idea....anytime we fancy it realy... 3)WHY?.. well thats the easy one...BECAUSE WE CAN..... __________________ Heres a few pre-emtif answers. Hos much does it cost?? It costs us on average 5 Billion a week to run the wars, this week an extra few billion is being spent Hows it paid for? Dev backing with ISK spawning FTW...(joking :P )... contracts, member corps, loot etc etc...the extra is donations from members. U R all are hauler gaking, station huggin, griefing noobs: Some of us are. I have a better portfolio and also gank mission runners, transports and last night me and my buddies ganked ya sister... you get the point? I dont care what opinion you have of me, or what brush you tar me with. We are a collective group of individual pilots, each person or group will do as they please and I dont give a toss what that is. (As long as its in game mechanics, which bring me nicely onto my next point) OMG exploiters.( 1)War deccing with retracting for instant 24 hour killing spree, 2)corp joining with war for cheap allaince war. 3)or any other) As a War Deccing based allaince it would be stupid for us to even try and exploit war deccing. We work within intended game mechanics. We do not exploit unintended game mechanics. 1A). If in doubt/accusing petition, 2A). that doesnt work as a corp cant join with a war active which it started. 3A). See 1A. OMG Empire is broken: No its not, you are. Empire is "Safer" than any lowsec/0.0 system and from the dev blogs I've read it wasnt supposed to be a totaly PVP free area or totaly safe for any pilot, YOU joined the that massive player allaince - get them to help you. YOU joined that 7 man industrial corp and one of your new buddies ****ed some1 off -hire mercs, dock, mine someplace else or watch local. I will try and deal with the flaming, err constructive questions, critisims and spelling errors as they are pointed out. Privateer Alliance has declared war on The Top 100 Allainces in Eve, a dozen contracted Corporations and few dozen "Random" Corps/Allainces, After 24 hours fighting can legally occur between those involved. The Lamentation: ( a cry of sorrow and grief; "their pitiful laments could be heard throughout the ward") Allthough I cant fault Privateers in what seems to be a successful use of game mechanics, I most certainly think this should not be allowed. A declaration of war at least from a concept view to fuel Eve Online seems to me like it should be more a bridge to sanction Empire war between two or more entities to cut off supplies ect the works. It should not be as it is the case with Privateers, a function to grief anything that moves, simply because its "within game mechanics" or original statements such as "because we can" and even if so well then CCP should consider the impact this aptitude for abuse has when were talking cluster-style agendas like this that affects more or less everything in Empire. Sure there are ways around it, we can all live in 0.0 where Privateers for now isnt seen much or we can remove ourselves from the game functions of alliances and corps and go into "corporate recession" to avoid the Privateer Gank squad. But that would just be to forward the inherrent problem instead of the root cause of the issue. Then classics like "adapt or become a victim of evolution" and all the train long smack will fall from the skies. Seleene once posted about the seriousness of creating an alliance and what a big moment it was and how it is theese days, well the same could be said about war declaration. It went from something that was not taken lightly to "what?!? were not at war today?!?, must be a server error!!" In times before Privateers a war dec meant buisness. Some people had enough/wanted to kill you because of some slight or political problems. Today Wardeccing is an "inconvenient" mechanic to bypass to be allowed to lay waste to as much as possible. "War has been declared" doesnt mean squat today. Chances are youre allready decced by Privateers or soon will be and since 0.0 war dec doesnt mean anything well nothing changes for the average pilot where as in older days war dec meant interruption of normal logistics ect. It has simply taken the menace out of the whole function. Maybe it still means something between big alliances vs each other, but thats about the extent of it. I must admit I hope CCP scales cost drastically above a certain amount of war decs pr entity. That said since it IS within game mechanics and Privateers seem to thrive on the said lamentations, here is a salute to you and looking forward to thursday, and may you all suffer a horrible end. Not that we mind, but I'd like to start preparing the students if we're going to be at war. For those that don't know, each and every Eve Uni student is corp supplied with shiny new T1 Frigates or Destroyers plus modules to fight with during war time. I heartily disagree. From a purely roleplaying POV, what Privateers are doing is entirely in the context of the lawless universe that EVE represents. Every system in EVE is part of a frontier, be it Jita or HED- or Oursaleart or 1V-. On a frontier there will always be outlaws, and that is what Privateers represent. From the "this is a game" POV, your post tastes a little bitter, like you're yearning for the "good old days". Back in the day a war dec was something to be feared, as you say. Well, we're all growed up now, and that's part of why war decs don't mean as much to the two, three and almost four year old players. We've got used to it. Well, that still goes on today, both on a newbie-I-love-Jita way, and in a LV/BoB Vs Goons/RA way.

I have been in one of the said war dec, and guess what changed in my eve life? nothing i didnt lost any single ship, and made some travels in empire just like i do in 0.0... The only difference was that i changed my overview and got rid of many SWA neutrals, was good to clean out my overview... i see privateers like a vulture, it feeds from dead animals, and thats a needed role in eve as in the wild, so, good hunt privateers -- "he is 10^8 bigger than me, so what?"
