Edited by: Victim Twelve on 13/03/2007 03:56:10 Hi first post here and thanks for reading/helping. I'm at my friends house trying to play Battlefield 2142 and Eve online but can't connect to either one. Normally I would think this is a Port issue but it's not, I know this because I went in and opened every single port from 0-65535 (i think is the highest) on TCP and UDP and even BOTH, he has a Linksys wireless router (even tho I don't believe it is the router)
What is really wierd and irks me the most is the fact that I can connect to World of Warcraft, Vanguard, Anarchy Online, and play games with them through the LAN w/ no problems, 2142 and Eve are the only 2 programs that refuse to believe there's an internet connection like something is blocking them.
I have the windows Firewall turned off and even made exceptions for them through it but still refuses to connect....
Is there some kind of setting I'm forgetting? I even tried the network setup wizard and did all the same info that the other 5 computers on the network are using, no matter what spot on the router i plug in, no matter what i change the IP too, and no matter how many ports i open, it doesn't work...
Also I don't think i mentioned this but there are 5 other computers on this network right now and every single one of them can connect to Eve and Battlefield2142
Edit::
After running net stat this is what I get....::: 87.237.39.199:http CLOSE_WAIT ^^^^x10 87.237.39.200:http ESTABLISHED 87.237.39.200:http ESTABLISHED 87.237.39.200:26000 TIME_WAIT

Well, it has only been an hour...
Have you checked the router settings and everything? I have had friends that had problems with Linksys routers in the past. ----------------------- Yea, Tho I Walk Through The Valley Of The Shadow Of Death, I Shall Fear No Evil

ya i checked em all.... and honestly I don't think it's the router... I sat here with the login screen sitting for like 10 min and got nothing... then started digging through the install directory and found the exefile.exe and decided to try and run it directly... it actually connected but then stopped when it said "logging in.." and now it won't connect with that method
It's wierd b/c I can ping the hell out of the IP and it works fine 5 packets sent, 5 packets received 0% packet loss all around 150ms

Check that his firmware is up to date. I had a similar issue several years ago with a router. It could be a bug in the firmware or overactive firewall rules.

See threads about connection losses.
Its likely to be your ISP doing IPtoDataStream transfers.
Tiscali is currently doing this and messing up ppls connections.
