Had it happen several times. And some of those times it went wrong. 
Once we saw a Cyclone going into the plex. We were Retribution, Blackbird (that had no scrambler) and myself in Prophecy. Caught him in the first room and started killing him. Now he ejected somewhere in half armour, on his own. After the expected "STOP SHOOTING STOP SHOOTING" we figure out the Retribution mate (who alone could fly Minmatar BC) will take it to a station. So he goes to leave his Ret in a safe spot and intends to go back into plex with pod... mistake, pod seems to not be allowed through acceleration gate. So he's going to station to get a shuttle. I'm sitting next to our prize in my Prophecy, shooting rats who are trying to destroy the abandoned ship. When all of a sudden... a Reaper warps into the plex, the Cyclone pilot seems really desperate. LOL. I smile in a most fiendish way as I lock both Reaper and Cyclone getting ready to scram it again... when... ctd. What happened??? Connection failed! No... No! NOOOOOOOO! Slamming fist against the table and keyboard I desperately try to reconnect, but it won't let me, the name and password is already being used wtf damn ghost, disappear already, I need to conect back, quickly, oh man wtf is this glass object doing here *crash*, why now???? WHY????????? And finally I connect to the net, log into the game and find out that the guy got out. So everyone isn't really happy about me or my ISP that keeps killing my connection, and we talk in local with the guy, me calling him lucky and explaining what happened and everyone else except of him calling me a retard.  When he realized what happened and how lucky had he been and unlucky I was, he actually donated 1 million to me to make me feel better. It didn't really help, but I appreciated the gesture.  It also didn't help a lot that the Blackbird kept saying "I got the Reaper, I got the Reaper" 
Second time was more recent, again in a plex. It was a Myrmidon, the same Retribution mate this time in Punisher and me in Harbinger. We warp into the first room and there he is. Now since the mate lost a Myrmidon not so long ago himself and he really would like to have another, we agree that we'll ask him to eject, just in case. So almost as soon as we open up the "Eject or we pod you" appears in local. And to my amazement he ejected almost right away, we just started working on his armor. Now this time we had some experience with how it is done. So instead of taking the Punisher into a safespot he ejects right away and boards the ship. And just stands there. Are you here? WTF are you doing? Why arent you warping out? And he's gone from local. This time he had a ctd. But luckily AFTER he boarded the ship. So he comes back into game, and there he is, everything is ok, ship is alive, he docks it and we feel damn satisfied. Than he notices some peculiarities. The myrmidon had 2 shield extenders, 2 WCS, a salvaging rig (yes, a salvaging rig ), and some other funny items. But, it was a myrmidon. Except for the rig. The guy who ejected it ended up being one of the most friendly victims I ever met. He actually thanked us for being nice, we talked about fitting a myrmidon, pointed out mistakes, answered his questions about why couldnt he warp way if he had 2 WCS (those damn 7.5km scrams on frigs), generally had a pleasant chat before he had to leave back to his high sec home.
There were also some others, but I wasn't really participating so can't say much about the details. I know there was a Drake. And a Hulk. And that Hulk was actually taken to Jita and sold, altough it's former owners tried destroying it before the fellow who could fly it for us came. That was some profit, and of course I was out drinking beer while it happened and didnt get a penny.  Real life ftl.
