Where ohhhh where is the bistot gone to!!!
I thought the bistot was going to respawn!!!!
I see that all the belts everywhere are looking great. Except in the curse region 9 npcs in a belt is really nasty but that is another story.
So what is the real story here. Are we {us miners} ever going to be able to mine bistot so we can get manufacturing back on track. Or is this just for the Pirates {Eddie Gordo} or peeps like that.!!! Please tell the real story........
Thanks EvilDoomer

Edited by: Dogma2003 on 19/12/2003 22:03:08 I have to agree with EvilDoomer on this one. What is the point of going deep into 00 for minerals (gneiss, bistot, arkanor) if all that is going to be there is stuff you can find in higher level sectors? Is this a setup to get rid of all the Battleships in EVE(tm) or is the Bistot not regenerating for some reason? I remember someone mentioning to me the whole reason for the slow down was because CCP didn't expect people to have battleships this early in the game!
I am not saying that a Battleship couldn't take out the 00 npcs, but solo it would be next to impossible to defend yourself in a belt while looking for Bistot!
Before anyone flames away, about reading the forums, I do read them but I'd rather spend my time playing the game, not spending 1/2 of my time or more reading Devblogs and Forums. How much fun is that. Its a game, not a BOOK!
Spending all your time reading the DEVBLOGS and FORUMS is like reading an instruction manual every time you were going to drive your car down the road irl.
Can something be done ingame to post this in the news before login or somewhere else in the game where it is more organized then in some of the forums?

Bistot is still out there, and in mass quantites in some secotrs. it's just that it has moved. It's no longer in the same old spots it used to be in.

John,
That is cool if that is the case, but answer me one question?
Who removed the remaining BISTOT that was in the sectors where it used to be before the patch. Did the NPCS move it to different locations. LMAO
I can see it now: A convoy of npcs in haulers moving bistot rocks with a chain around it to the next sector!

Is it confirmed that Bistot (and any other ore) really respawn?
I have some doubts from my observations.
Can someone confirme?

bistot is plentiful but it's junk compared to the 108 rad ark roids. -------------------------------------------

Is seems to me that the quanity of bistot that may or may not be available is only meant now for the bigger corp's that can mine it - or mostly pirate corps that hog a whole area, leaving it impossible for the little corp in the game to get anywhere.
I feel that bistot should be spread out, not just in 0.0 - where now we not only have to contend with PC pirates but now battleship npcs as well.
We are not able to build, buy or do anything to get further in the game.

Empire space has been safe for miners to mine for hundreds of years so there can't possibly be any rare ore left inside empire controlled space

Dalman,
This is easy for you to post your comment like that, but you have to remember that MEGA corps are not the only players inside of EVE and not the only paying customers. Little mom and pop corps are being driven out of the game in droves now, because they can't get the rare minerals needed to manufacture the items they used to sell. They cant travel around anymore because all the PKers are driven from 00 to empire space. For some of them it is too tough now also as well to hang out in 00.
I am not saying to put so much bistot in empire space so that it is plentiful, but they could throw in some small roids in .2 and .1 systems. There would still be a risk , but not one so big that a 5-7 man corp cant take on the npcs and lose all the hard work they put into getting a Battleship!! The Whiners are paying customers as well.
So say if 70% of the base of EVE is 2-10 man/woman corps and they all leave that is a big loss of monthly income for CCP, and Noobs wont stick around in the game long enough if they have to lose a ship everyday and try to recoop their losses.
Just my 2 cents as a NON MEGA CORP MEMBER! Flame on! *With a gun barrel between your teeth, you speak only in vowels.* |

the idea behind corporations is to make alliances, merge, commit acts of war against each other. If you find you are unable to mine in 0.0 space as a small corp, why not approach one of the larger ones and make a deal with them, some of them would be quite happy to sit in a belt all day while you mine bist and ark for a % of what you get, while they get to fly around in big ships and waste the new battleship rats.
This is a win-win situation for the game, as it gets people more involved with others, and helps to get the economy moving again.
Please note that this is my own personal opinion, and i don't mind if people disagree with it or think it is wrong for them. Just dont say YOU ARE WRONG.

I'd like to see a bis rock thats bigger then 100rad. Then again got a record breaker 114.2 rad Ark rock . Screw the bis ark much better then again its more difficult to mine with the damn rats. Oh well its a win/loose situation.

Definately.
Not only that, but unlike before it actually grows.

im not in a mega corp (around 10 active players max) and we have no problems to mine ark... you just have to know where and you can make BILLIONS...

How can you mine in 0.0 these days? I don't get it. Do you spam a field with battleships?

There's tons of Bistot, but as others have said the good ores and the high end pirates have been moved (yet again). The rats are also not in any way that I can tell related to the quality of the ore, so it is possible to find Bist (4K to 5K ore in each one) and/or Spod in places that spawn only 5-10 NPC cruisers. Of course until we are 100% sure of no CTDs while mining I'm not sure I'd want to be messing with that many rats, especially since CCP seems to be saying they won't replace losses to this bug, even though they have acknowledged it was a problem with the code....
Still haven't seen ark yet. But when you find good Bist and Merc, you mine that first THEN explore more :)

Dont need to.. you just need to have a "certain loadout" and be quick when the rats spawn.
Solo mining is reasonably easy if you think your tactics through. -------------------------------------------

Have two battleships kitted for insane optimal range (My corpmates have been able to pull 70-80 km) who pull the agro by shooting at the rats.
Corpmates of mine have even managed to chain solo with such long-range setups.
Blasters are now useless in NPC encounters. Long-range combat is sadly the only option, there are no short-range loadouts that work, as the NPCs can take you out quite quickly even with a large shieldbooster, hardeners, and a shieldboost amp. ------------ Ezra Cornell pe0n, Xanadu Corporation |
