It strikes me as odd that you'd need a separate account for each - try remembering all that login info?! - rather than just being able to make all these on one account and train them all - but when you make a subscription just choose which character it applies to. |

B) Lock safeties to green or some other absurd measure to restrict free players' impact on the game.
So that is what the Alpha clone will become a longer version of the trial account to which I'd point out:
We know that increasing the trial time limit doesn't seem to have an effect on retention rates.
We also know (I hope) that restricting player choice and involvement actually encourages players to leave rather than become excited about subbing.
Which leads me to my conclusion:

I see a win win for ccp here. I make another 1+ accounts, fill the character slots, train for the month, never pay again and reap. after all it was a real account i paid for, but i'm just currently unsubbed.
but for this to REALLY work, ccp needs to go all the way with the f2p model, i'm talking hats and locking all the alpha clones into a small area until they figure and earn their way out.
Get some Eve. Make it yours.

This is an alternative.
In an ideal game everyone would be self aware of his capabilities and also aware of the demand of these capabilities.
These everyone include new players, of course.
In such a game people would seek out and look for people who fullfill specific roles.
Instead we have alts for every thing ...
... instead of friends for at least some things.
The recruitment interfaces CCP provides are horribly limiting and inadequate!
It's the old players who need to realise their responsibility in this shift ...
... or suffer from the consequences of having masses of "lost" new players out there.

Well I have corpmates and out of corp buddies. I thought that was a thing.
I are apologizing for not making 12 billion a day, flying 322 titans all day, mining all 7000+ ore anomalies at once, killing myself in a factions wars, ganking all freighters in New Eden at the same time, crashing the market for everything and causing terrible inflation of the entire economy and conquering all sov systems for myself all day long.
Please continue to blindfold, roofy, handcuff, gang-****, beat up and murdering the one-girl army you seem all too afraid of.

Well. Read the article, have to admit I kind of like it.
Except for one tiny detail: if/when security gets locked in green status, those Omega trial accounts won't be able to try lowsec PvP either. Unfortunately, I can also totally see FW DPlexing abuse if those characters are able to trade. Even more so than the current army of DPlexers passively gathering LP in their stabbed unfitted ships.
Still ... more things to shoot I suppose. |

Well the game kinda makes you have an alt this way. Even if its a single vexor to give 5 drones and resebo and remote tracking. Depending on the ruling everyone could be followed by 5 vexors for everything. While still having army of vexors in null doing anoms.

I hate this idea with fury. I dont want pvp to be everybodys main plus their grifin alt. Jam online is not fun.
This new FTP should be designed so it prevent omega and alphas from running at same time on one computer.
