perhaps its because of the minnies skin colour/appearance? well tbh the minmater characters have a greater variation of skin colour and appearance to choose from than any of the other 3 races at character creation. they range from white to black and even to characters that look slightly native american and everything in between. u can even create a portrait that looks like a white bnp skinhead! plus u can have black gallente characters.
perhaps its because they are described as being tribal? well that doesnt mean anything. plenty of cultures and races ir where/still are tribal. plus alot of the minnie systems/ships (especially the t2 ships) have more of a norse/celtic sounding name than african name. also the fractured tribal set up provides a contrast to the dominate unified empirilistic monarchy that enslaved them.
this is just a *******s pointless thread and regardless of what u say about freedom of speech, this thread should be locked because its got bugger all to do with the "ships and modules" section uve posted it in.
calm down dear, its only a thread..
and yes it is to do with S&M (lol)

We matari are based on Vikings.. look at all the ship names :P
If u didnt know.. it just takes about 1-2k years to "change" the skin color from white to black and vice-versa, in the right climate zone that is. And as we all know Minmatar tribes have been nomades for eons. So we could be based on Kaukasian, Africans,Asians,Nativamaricans... what ever u wish.. just fill in 
And also: in the real world not only blacks have been slaves.
In northern africa whites were slaves till the late 19th cent. Vikings had slaves from all over europe. Romans,Agyptian,................. continue..
Even nowdays there are slaves.
So reducing ppl to be slave just by their skin color is at least ignorant.
btt: 1337 HP is indeed what Minmatar are

Ye I agree this thread should be moved to general discussion but it is a good debatable topic mate.
White religious extremism vs an enslaved race appears quite obvious and an excellent roleplaying scenario even though as pointed out there are several bloodlines within Minmatar and so several colours.
It is a great game with its own history but EVE is influenced by all areas of RL. Makes it more rich for it. OK, waffle over.

And here I thought that the Minmatars were based on the australian aborigenes (sp?)...
By the way, for a race of "slaves", they have accomplished a whole lot of things that even "pure white aryans" still only dream of : a successful rebellion, their own Empire, and a thorn in the Amarr side ... nice job !
BTW, you can get that "|33t" number in almost all ships and damage logs, purely coincidental IMHO.
